Design & Build Recruitment – Melbourne VICThe roleOur client is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead the commercial and contractual delivery of large-scale, mission-critical data centre projects.
Reporting to senior project leadership, you will own the contract from tender handover through to final account, protecting margin and managing risk across the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilitiesManage head contract and subcontract administration, including variations, EOTs, notices, claims and payment schedulesLead subcontract procurement, tender analysis, negotiation and award across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and fit-out packagesPrepare and report monthly cost-to-complete, forecasts, cashflow and risk/prospect registersManage client relationships and commercial negotiations with hyperscale/colocation clients and their consultantsOversee delays, disruptions and disputes,



and drive commercial close-out and final accountsLead and mentor contract administrators and cost plannersAbout youTertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or similar10+ years with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 builder, including recent Contracts or Commercial Manager experienceProven delivery of data centre or other mission-critical projects (hyperscale, colocation, high-MEP-intensity builds) of $100m+Solid grasp of MEP-heavy packages, long-lead equipment procurement and staged handoversStrong negotiation, stakeholder and leadership skillsWhy apply$275k to $325k base plus superPipeline of major data centre projects with a leading builderSenior commercial leadership role with career progression
