Our dedicated R&D; team design products and solutions specifically suited to the needs of the ANZ market.About the OpportunityWe have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead Electronic Design Engineer to join our R&D; team based in Prestons, NSW.Reporting to the Lead Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development and continuous improvement of electronic products from concept through to production.
As a senior member of the Electronics Design team, you'll provide technical leadership, contribute to innovative product development programs, and collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, sourcing and international stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer and market needs.This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, mentoring others, and seeing innovative products move from concept to commercial reality.

and seeing their work come to life in real-world applications.Key ResponsibilitiesYour responsibilities will include:Leading electronic design activities across new product development and product improvement projectsConducting feasibility assessments and supporting business case development for new product conceptsDesigning analogue and digital electronic circuits and PCB layouts using AltiumDeveloping, testing and validating prototypes and production-ready solutionsPreparing technical documentation including BOMs, specifications, test reports, assembly instructions and product documentationProviding technical leadership and guidance to engineers within the Electronics Design teamSupporting project teams with technical expertise, planning and execution activitiesTroubleshooting design and production issues through root cause analysis and corrective actionsCollaborating with local and offshore suppliers, manufacturers and certification bodiesEnsuring products comply with Australian and New Zealand standards and regulatory requirementsDriving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance, quality and manufacturabilityPromoting and maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality and engineering excellenceWhat we're looking forTo be successful in this role,



you will have:Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related disciplineDemonstrated experience in electronic product design and development within a manufacturing or product development environmentStrong analogue and digital circuit design capabilityExperience developing products from concept through to productionKnowledge of embedded firmware developmentExperience with one or more of the following:Switch mode power suppliesBattery charging circuitsLow-voltage electrical equipmentStrong understanding of engineering drawings, technical specifications and quality standardsExcellent problem-solving, analytical and troubleshooting skillsStrong communication skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with multiple stakeholdersExperience mentoring engineers or providing technical leadership will be highly regardedWhat's on OfferAt Legrand, you'll have the opportunity to work with a talented team that is passionate about innovation and engineering excellence.
