About the RoleWe have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant to join our growing Indirect Tax team in Sydney.
Working closely with our Partners, Directors and Managers, you will advise local and global organisations across a broad range of indirect tax matters, including GST, stamp duty, land tax and other state taxes.This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your specialist expertise, gain exposure to complex advisory matters, build trusted client relationships and contribute to a team-oriented and high performing team.Key responsibilities:Assist in delivering high-quality advice on GST, stamp duty, payroll tax, land tax and other indirect tax matters across a diverse range of industriesSupport clients through major transactions and projects, including mergers and acquisitions, restructures, due diligence reviews, property transactions and cross-border arrangementsHelp clients manage their indirect tax obligations, including preparation of Business Activity Statements, duty submissions and assist in responses to reviews or auditsBuild trusted relationships with clients through regular interaction and meeting participationContribute to a positive, high performing team culture focused on collaboration and excellenceWhy join our Tax teamBe part of a highly collaborative team where you'll work closely with Partners and Directors on complex, high-profile client engagements across a broad range of indirect tax matters.




You will have the opportunity to build deep technical expertise through hands-on experience, mentoring from senior professionals and ongoing learning opportunities, including industry conferences and support for professional qualifications such as CA, CTA and College of Law programs.About YouDemonstrated experience in indirect tax within professional services, a law firm or governmentA relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce, Law, or a combined Law/Business or Commerce degreeStrong technical capability with the ability to apply legislation and guidance in a practical and commercial contextStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationshipsSalary package commences from $87k inclusive of superannuation.Why BDO?
