Accountant - Business Services & AdvisoryWorking closely with the principals and senior management of the group, you will be responsible for accounting, taxation, reporting and advisory work across a range of companies, trusts, funds and other entities.
Initially, you will work closely with two principal clients within the broader group: an established commercial law firm; and a financial services and funds management business, together with a growing portfolio of its associated clients and entities.
The role combines the stability and familiarity of an internal group accounting position with the variety and career development of working in an accounting practice.
As the accounting practice develops, so will the role.Key responsibilitiesPreparation of financial statements and management accountsPreparation of income tax returns, BAS and other taxation and compliance workMonth-end and year-end accountingGeneral ledger management, reconciliations and reportingPreparation of budgets, forecasts and cash-flow reportingAssisting with company,



trust and group accountingWorking with external auditors, tax advisers and other professional advisers where requiredAssisting management with financial analysis and commercial decision-makingDeveloping and maintaining accounting processes, systems and internal controlsWorking directly with the directors and key stakeholders of the law firm and financial services businessesAbout youApproximately 3-4 years' relevant accounting experienceCA or CPA qualification, or be well progressed towards qualificationExperience in business services, taxation, commercial accounting or a combination of these areasExperience preparing financial statements and tax returns for companies and trustsSound knowledge of Australian taxation, GST and accounting requirementsExcellent attention to detailConfidence communicating directly with clients, directors and other professional advisersThe ability to work independently and take ownership of your responsibilities
