Female Disability Support Worker – Complex Care
Location: Jamboree Heights, QLDCompany: Open Futures Disability Services
Open Futures Disability Services is seeking compassionate, resilient, and experienced female Disability Support Workers to provide dedicated care for a female participant in her early 30s residing in Jamboree Heights.
Our participant is a fully mobile young lady living with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), mental health challenges, and complex behaviours.
To support her privacy, dignity, and unique communication needs during intimate personal care routines, this position is open to female applicants only.
We are looking for support workers who bring skilled boundaries, emotional resilience, and demonstrated experience in:
Managing complex and challenging behavioursSupporting individuals with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) or similar neurological conditionsProviding empathetic emotional regulation and psychosocial supportDelivering respectful personal care assistance and prompting
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include:
Following positive behaviour support and individualised care plans meticulouslyProviding proactive emotional support and grounding techniquesAssisting with personal care, grooming, and hygiene needs while preserving dignitySupporting daily living activities, household tasks, and domestic routinesMeal planning, preparation, and cookingAccurate medication administration and documentationEmpowering the participant to maintain independence, personal choice,



and community connectionAdhering to individual safe work practices and risk management strategiesMaintaining clear, objective progress notes and reporting operational concerns promptlyCommunicating effectively with family stakeholders, team members, and management
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
A reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle available for work purposesProven professional experience supporting individuals with complex disabilities and behaviours of concernDemonstrated experience working alongside Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) frameworksExperience confidently managing personal care routinesProfessional literacy with the ability to communicate clearly in spoken and written EnglishCurrent First Aid and CPR CertificatesA current NDIS Worker Screening Check Clearance (Paid Yellow Card status)Completed NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission modules: Worker Orientation and Supporting Safe and Enjoyable MealsAvailability to commit to a 7-day rotating roster, including active/passive sleepover shifts and weekendsCapacity to commence immediately following successful client matching
