About the role

As an Estimator, you'll deliver timely, accurate property repair assessments and scopes of work, with a strong focus on KPIs, costing accuracy and quality customer service. You'll be the link between customers, insurers, specialist trades and our internal teams, keeping claims moving efficiently.

What you'll do

- Coordinate and schedule trades for initial make-safe works to prevent further loss or damage
- Assess property damage onsite or remotely, in line with building codes, industry standards and insurer requirements
- Prepare detailed causation reports and Scopes of Work for minor and major building losses
- Identify high-risk work and support HSEQ planning and assurance
- Engage specialist trades for complex or technical assessments and integrate their findings into your reports
- Make sure every estimate is accurate, competitive and compliant with contract requirements, insurer expectations and pricing structures
- Explain the insurance and repair process clearly to customers, insurers and other stakeholders, and manage expectations throughout
- Submit assessments and reports within agreed timeframes and SLAs
- Keep accurate records in our CRM and job management systems
- Support continuous improvement, give technical advice to internal teams, and help develop training for the team

What you'll bring

- Trade qualification or tertiary education in building, construction management or a related field
- Builders / Supervisors Licence




- White Card
- Current driver's licence
- A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in building estimating, insurance assessment or a related construction or trade-based role
- Solid knowledge of residential and/or commercial construction methods, materials and building codes
- Demonstrated experience preparing scopes of work and damage causation reports
- Solid working knowledge of insurance industry practices, especially property claims
- High-level written communication skills for skilled reporting
- Sound knowledge of HSEQ practices and relevant legislation
- Lateral thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong systems, operational and reporting skills, and a willingness to adapt to changing routines
