Are you a commercially astute senior lawyer looking for a broad in-house role where you can genuinely influence business outcomes?

Our client is a large national organisation operating within a highly regulated setting and is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join its Brisbane-based legal team on an initial 6-12 month contract, with the potential for extension.

Working closely with the General Counsel and senior leadership team, you will act as a trusted adviser across a range of commercial, regulatory and strategic matters. This is an opportunity to step into a visible role where your advice will directly support key business initiatives, risk management and organisational growth.

You will be responsible for:

- Advising on a broad range of commercial and corporate matters.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
- Providing advice on privacy, compliance and regulatory obligations.
- Supporting employment, dispute resolution and litigation matters.
- Identifying and managing legal and commercial risk across the organisation.
- Working closely with executive stakeholders to deliver practical and commercially focused solutions.
- Managing relationships with external legal providers and regulators.
- Contributing to the ongoing development and enhancement of the legal function.





About You To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Approximately 6-8+ years' PAE.
- Strong experience across corporate and commercial law.
- Proven capability in contract drafting, negotiation and risk management.
- Experience advising within a regulated industry.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence senior decision-makers.
- Sound commercial judgement and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- The ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across a business.

Lawyers coming from top-tier, mid-tier or established in-house environments are encouraged to apply.
