Regional Operations Coordinator – VIC/TAS

Are you an experienced operations or project coordination professional with a background in the waste management industry? Do you enjoy managing multiple sites, coordinating subcontractors and ensuring operational standards, compliance and service delivery are consistently achieved?

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Regional Operations Coordinator to lead the transition-in, readiness verification and operational establishment of multiple sites across an allocated region, supporting the implementation of a newly secured contract.

This is an excellent chance for someone who thrives in a hands-on, site-focused role, enjoys building strong stakeholder relationships and has the ability to bring structure, accountability and operational discipline to complex projects.

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will take ownership of coordinating the mobilisation of approximately four to six sites within your allocated region.

You will play a key role in ensuring each site is fully prepared, compliant and operationally ready ahead of its scheduled service start date.

This will involve coordinating site mobilisation activities, conducting regular site visits, managing subcontractor relationships, implementing operational processes and ensuring all contractual, regulatory, security and departmental requirements are met.

You will be responsible for maintaining structured transition checklists for each site, tracking progress through a dedicated CRM system and ensuring all required documentation, processes and operational controls are in place.

Key Responsibilities:

- Site Mobilisation & Transitions: Oversee end-to-end site establishment, manage transition checklists, implement the Logistics Management Plan (LMP), and finalise Transition-In and Service Management Plans.
- Documentation & Compliance: Lead the development and implementation of tailored, site-specific operational documentation,

including WHS and Environmental Management Plans, Incident Management Plans, Emergency Response Plans, Business Continuity Plans, Risk Assessments and Site KPIs.
- Subcontractor & Operations Management: Manage subcontractors across collection, transport and disposal activities, serving as the primary onsite operational point of contact and resolving escalated issues.
- Performance & Quality Control: Monitor ongoing site KPIs, drive continuous operational improvement, proactively manage risks and prepare documentation for external audits.
- Administration & Systems: Utilise Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM for task allocation and workflow accountability, maintain accurate compliance and vehicle records, and manage operational reporting and administration.

About You:

You will be an organised, solutions-focused professional with strong operational coordination skills and the confidence to manage multiple stakeholders across geographically dispersed sites.

Ideally, you will bring:

- Previous experience within the waste management, environmental services or industrial services industry.
- Experience coordinating or managing subcontractors, particularly across collection, transport and disposal operations.
- Demonstrated experience in site mobilisation, project coordination or operational management.
- A sound understanding of WHS, environmental compliance and operational risk management.
- Experience working within quality management systems, ideally in an ISO-certified environment.

- Solid organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver against tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong attention to detail and confidence managing operational documentation and reporting.
- Proficiency across Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience using CRM systems. Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience would be advantageous.

Essential Requirements:

Due to the nature of the contract and site requirements, applicants must:

- Be an Australian Citizen.
- Be willing and able to undergo a National Police Check.
- Be eligible to obtain and maintain the required Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).

The successful candidate must also be comfortable travelling regularly between allocated sites. A minimum of three site visits per location will be required throughout the transition-in phase.

What’s on Offer?

- Join a well-established, Australian-owned family business with a proud history and an expanding national footprint.
- Play a key role in the successful mobilisation and establishment of multiple operational sites under a newly secured contract.
- Enjoy a varied, hands-on position with exposure to operational management, compliance, project delivery and continuous improvement.
- Make a tangible contribution to an organisation operating in an essential and evolving industry.

If you’re an experienced operational professional who enjoys bringing people, processes and sites together to deliver successful outcomes, we’d love to hear from you.
