Are you a property lawyer considering a move in-house?

We're recruiting two lawyers to join the established national legal team of a major international business operating across the accommodation, property and hospitality sectors.

Based on the Gold Coast, these are excellent opportunities for lawyers who enjoy property work but would like to broaden their experience, work more closely with commercial decision-makers and become part of a business rather than advising it from the outside.

We're looking to appoint both a Senior Legal Counsel and a Legal Counsel, with the roles offering different levels of responsibility depending on experience.

The opportunities You'll be advising a substantial Australian business with a diverse property and accommodation portfolio. The work is varied, commercially focused and offers plenty of exposure to the operational side of the business.

Matters will include:

- Commercial property transactions, leasing and property-related advice
- Management rights, strata and body corporate matters
- Negotiating and drafting commercial agreements
- Franchising and accommodation-related agreements
- Providing practical legal advice to senior management and operational teams
- Working alongside other lawyers within an established national legal team

The Senior Legal Counsel will manage more complex matters, advise senior stakeholders and enjoy a high degree of autonomy.





The Legal Counsel will suit a lawyer looking to build on their property experience while developing broader commercial expertise in an in-house setting.

Who are we looking for?

We're particularly interested in speaking with lawyers currently working in commercial property teams at law firms, although those already working in-house are equally encouraged to apply.

You might be an Associate or Senior Associate looking for your first in-house opportunity, or a more experienced lawyer seeking a different environment.

Experience in management rights, strata, body corporate or franchising would certainly be advantageous, but you don't need to have experience across all these areas.

More important is a good grounding in property law, commercial awareness and the ability to provide practical advice to a business.
