The company
This is a privately owned Queensland fabricate-and-erect contractor with more than 40 years in medium to heavy structural steel. Its track record includes some of South East Queensland’s best-known stadium, transport and commercial projects. It has a modern, high-capacity facility, industry-certified quality systems and a strong pipeline heading into the Brisbane 2032 build-out.

The role
You’ll own tenders from drawings to submission, pricing supply, fabrication and erection packages accurately and competitively. You’ll:

- Complete steel take-offs and build up costs for material, fabrication, surface treatment, freight, cranage and erection
- Source and assess supplier and subcontractor quotes
- Prepare transparent tender submissions and price variations on live jobs
- Attend tender meetings, site visits and post-tender negotiations
- Work with the Directors on bid/no-bid decisions,



margin and risk
- Hand over won jobs to the PM and detailing team with clean, well-documented estimates

About you

- 3+ years estimating structural steel with a fabricator or fabricate-and-erect contractor
- Confident reading structural and architectural drawings and specs
- A solid understanding of fabrication, connections, surface treatment and erection methods
- Sharp numeracy and the commercial sense to know when a price is right
- Able to juggle multiple tenders and hit deadlines
