Austral Ag is a busy, growing, Australian-owned agricultural supply business, servicing farmers, graziers, contractors, rural businesses and property owners across Australia.

Our Toowoomba store supplies everything from water tanks, concrete troughs, poly pipe and fittings through to fencing, animal health, feed, livestock equipment and general rural merchandise.

We're looking for an experienced, confident and motivated Customer Service & Sales Officer to join our Toowoomba team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys dealing with people, takes pride in delivering great customer service and has the experience to manage a busy and varied workload.

About the Role

You'll be part of our customer service team, assisting customers face-to-face, on the phone, email and online channels.

We're looking for someone who can bring experience, initiative and a practical approach to the role. You'll need to be comfortable handling customer enquiries, processing orders, resolving issues and helping customers find the right products.

While previous agricultural industry experience would be a real advantage, we're equally interested in someone with a strong customer service or sales background who has a genuine understanding of rural life.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing professional, friendly and knowledgeable service to customers in our store

- Handling incoming phone calls, emails, live chat and online enquiries

- Assisting customers with product selection, pricing, availability and purchases

- Processing sales orders, quotes, returns and customer pickups

- Following up customer enquiries and ensuring orders are handled accurately and efficiently

- Working closely with our sales and warehouse teams to coordinate orders and deliveries

- Building relationships with regular customers and providing a high standard of ongoing service





- Assisting with general administration and day-to-day customer service operations

What We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in someone who has already developed strong customer service skills and can confidently manage their own workload while supporting the wider team.

Ideally, you'll bring:

- Previous experience in customer service, retail sales, trade counter sales or a similar customer-facing role

- Excellent communication skills and a confident, professional phone manner

- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

- The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment

- Confidence using computers, processing orders and learning new systems

- A proactive attitude, common sense and the ability to solve problems independently

- A genuine willingness to help customers and contribute to a productive team environment

Rural or agricultural knowledge would be a big advantage!

Perhaps you've worked in rural merchandise, agricultural supplies, a produce store or a trade-related business. Or maybe you've grown up on a property, worked with livestock, owned horses or have a practical understanding of farming and rural life.

Knowledge of products such as water tanks, pumps, pipe and fittings, fencing, livestock equipment or animal health would be particularly valuable.

You don't need to know our entire product range, but some practical knowledge and the confidence to learn recent products will help you succeed.
