EXCITING PART TIME OPPORTUNITY – NO EVENINGS OR WEEKENDS!

An exciting opportunity has arisen at QueenslandTMS C/O Daintree Clinic for a motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) or Enrolled Nurse (EN) to join our Mareeba clinic.

This part-time position offers Monday to Friday, three hours per day.

The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) treatment to patients in a supportive outpatient mental health environment.

As this is an independent clinic-based position, we are seeking someone who is confident working autonomously, managing their daily responsibilities and maintaining regular communication with our Cairns-based team.

No previous experience in rTMS is required – comprehensive training will be provided.

About Us

QueenslandTMS C/O Daintree Clinic is a specialist mental health service providing repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) and ongoing psychiatric care across Far North Queensland.

Our clinics offer innovative, evidence-based treatments for patients experiencing mental health conditions, including treatment-resistant depression.

We pride ourselves on creating a friendly, caring and enjoyable work environment, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, professionalism and compassionate patient care.

As our services continue to expand, there may also be future opportunities to become involved in Esketamine treatment at our Mareeba clinic.

About the Role

Based at our Mareeba clinic, you will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of rTMS treatments and supporting patients throughout their treatment journey.

This position involves working independently on-site, as our wider nursing and administration teams are based in Cairns. You will remain part of our supportive clinical team, with ongoing communication, guidance and assistance available from our Cairns-based staff.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Delivering rTMS treatment following training and competency assessment.

- Preparing patients for treatment and ensuring their comfort and wellbeing throughout each session.

- Monitoring patients throughout treatment and promptly escalating any clinical concerns.

- Maintaining accurate patient records,

treatment logs and clinical documentation.

- Preparing, cleaning and maintaining treatment rooms and equipment.

- Managing daily treatment schedules and ensuring the smooth running of the Mareeba treatment service.

- Maintaining treatment supplies and assisting with stock management.

- Providing compassionate, professional and patient-centred care.

- Maintaining regular communication with our Cairns-based nursing and administration teams.

- Potentially assisting with Esketamine treatment in the future, subject to service expansion, appropriate training and scope of practice.

No previous rTMS experience is necessary.

We provide comprehensive training to ensure the successful applicant feels confident and supported in their new role.

The initial training period will consist of:

- Week 1 – Cairns Clinic: Hands-on training with our experienced nursing team, covering rTMS treatment delivery, equipment operation, patient monitoring, documentation and clinical procedures.

- Week 2 – Mareeba Clinic: On-site training and handover, allowing you to become familiar with the Mareeba clinic, daily treatment schedules and responsibilities before transitioning into the role.

Ongoing support and guidance will be available from our Cairns-based team following completion of training.

About You

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, motivated, reliable and interested in building a long-term career within a supportive specialist mental health service.

As you will be working independently at our Mareeba clinic, we are particularly interested in applicants who are confident, organised and comfortable taking responsibility for their daily workload.

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Enrolled Nurse (EN).

- A minimum of one year's nursing experience.

- Previous mental health nursing experience will be highly regarded but is not essential.

- Confidence working independently in a clinical environment, within your scope of practice and supervision requirements.

- Strong organisational, time management and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Good computer skills and attention to detail.

- The ability to use initiative and manage daily responsibilities effectively.

- A compassionate, professional and patient-centered approach.

- The ability to maintain regular communication and work collaboratively with our Cairns-based team.

- Willingness to undertake initial training at our Cairns clinic.

- Flexibility to work additional hours when required to cover staff leave.

We value employees who take pride in their work, demonstrate professionalism and contribute to a positive and supportive workplace.

What We Offer

- Competitive hourly rates based on qualifications and experience.

- Great work-life balance – no evenings or weekends.

- Part-time hours, Monday to Friday, three hours per day.

- Additional hours potentially available to cover staff leave.

- Comprehensive rTMS training – no previous experience required.

- Two weeks of structured training and handover across our Cairns and Mareeba clinics.

- An independent role with ongoing support from our experienced Cairns-based team.

- A friendly, supportive and dedicated workplace.

- Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

- The opportunity to develop specialised skills in innovative mental health treatments.

- Potential future involvement in Esketamine treatment as our Mareeba services expand.
