Most of this role is TGE freight administration, along with front counter and phone duties.
You'll work closely with the depot supervisor and the drivers to make sure freight moves out on time each day.Key responsibilitiesAnswer phones and emails and serve front counter customers, including freight collections and drop-offsHandle TGE consignment (connote) admin: booking pickups, tracking, and following up on delivery enquiriesFollow up PODs, futile deliveries, redeliveries and damaged or missing freightPrepare run sheets and help drivers sort out scanner and paperwork issuesCoordinate freight for outlying areas (Mt Garnet, Dimbulah, Chillagoe and similar) with our onforwarding partnersDo general office adminAbout youExperience in reception, customer service or admin (transport or logistics experience is a bonus, not essential)Confident with computers, email and ExcelCalm and explicit on the phoneLives locally on the TablelandsAbout usMRT Freight Services is a growing Far North Queensland transport business with depots from Townsville to Mossman.
