Roster Coordinator -Home and Community Care

Every client. The right worker. The right time. Every time.

In community care, rostering is where trust is won or lost. A missed shift means a client goes without support. We need an experienced, highly organised Roster Coordinator who keeps the schedule accurate, follows through without being chased, and stays calm when the plan changes without notice.

About us

We’re a registered Support at Home and NDIS provider founded by registered nurses, serving Melbourne’s Metro North and North West. We’re built on clinical expertise, cultural understanding and a genuine commitment to the people we support.

The role

You’ll own day-to-day rostering across our community aged care and NDIS services. That means covering every shift, keeping it compliant, and looking after both clients and support workers.

Full-time, hybrid (minimum 3 days in our Preston office)

Reports directly to the General Manager

What you’ll do

Rostering (primary focus)

Manage end-to-end rostering for our Aged Care clients using our client management system.

Respond quickly to cancellations, sick calls and unplanned gaps, so no client is left without support

Match workers to clients based on needs, preferences, skills, continuity of care and travel

Ensure every shift is compliant, with current worker screening, qualifications and availability checked before allocation

Identify roster risks early, such as upcoming public holidays, leave, expiring compliance or thin coverage, and act before they become problems

Administration

Manage incoming calls from clients, families and staff

Maintain accurate staff compliance records

Handle data entry, record-keeping and correspondence with clients, staff and external stakeholders

About you

Proven rostering experience in aged care and/or NDIS, ideally community-based. You’ve managed a live roster with real volume and know what valuable coverage looks like.

Reliable. You do what you say, when you say.

Highly organised and detail-focused. You keep accuracy high under pressure and manage competing priorities without dropping anything.

Calm and adaptable. Last-minute changes are part of the job, not a crisis.

Client-focused. Every rostering decision is made with the client’s wellbeing in mind.

A clear, professional communicator by phone and in writing.

Self-directed. You work confidently and independently in a hybrid arrangement.

Demonstrated rostering experience in aged care and/or NDIS community services

Strong working knowledge of rostering software (Alayacare experience highly regarded)

NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)

Certificate III/IV in Individual Support or Community Services

What we offer

$75,000–$83,000 + super, depending on experience

Hybrid working and weekly pay

Paid training and access to our online Learning Management System

Genuine career progression

Employee Assistance Program and recognition programs

A supportive, hands-on management team, founded and led by nurses
