What you will be doing
As a Community Occupational Therapist, you'll join a supportive Allied Health team helping people stay independent, active, and connected to the life they love. Every day looks a little different, but you'll spend your time supporting people in your own homes and communities with practical, person-centred care.
Your day may include:
- Completing assessments and recommending equipment that makes daily life a little easier
- Prescribing exercises and practical strategies that help people stay independent
- Working alongside customers, carers, families and community partners to provide tailored support
- Sharing knowledge with the team and contributing to continual improvement
This role is based in North Lakes, with regular travel across the Brisbane region. We're ideally looking for someone who can work full-time, helping us support more people in our local community. We know life doesn't always fit neatly into a standard work week, so if you'd like to be considered, please outline your preferred days and hours in your cover letter.
This is a chance to do meaningful work that makes a real difference, close to home.
You will Thrive in this role if you
- Hold a tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration
- Have experience supporting older people with OT care in the community
- Are confident on the road, with a current driver’s licence and insured vehicle
- Communicate with warmth and clarity, building trust with ease
- Are tech-savvy and detail-oriented, keeping notes and plans up to date
- Stay committed to learning – from First Aid refreshers to professional networks
- Know how to motivate others and support people with complex needs
- Hold (or are willing to get) First Aid, CPR, and a National Criminal History Check
Belonging Starts Here
We believe real care starts with real belonging. That means creating a workplace where everyone - no matter their background, culture, or story - feels seen, respected, and safe to be themselves.
We welcome applications from First Nations people, the LGBTIQA+ community, people with disabilities, and those from culturally diverse backgrounds. Your story matters here.
We proudly work across the lands of the Gubbi Gubbi (Gub-bee Gub-bee), Turrbal, Yuggera, Darumbal, Butchulla (Batjala) & Taribelang Bunda peoples, and extend our respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. We are committed to creating a culturally safe, inclusive and welcoming workplace for all.
You can still make a big impact. Volunteering is a excellent way to give back, connect with your community and support others.
