Where you’ll be working
In this permanent leadership appointment, you will lead a dedicated obstetrics and gynaecology department providing comprehensive maternity and women's health services across a vast regional and remote footprint. Working alongside experienced midwives, rural generalist medical practitioners, resident medical staff, and visiting specialists, you will guide clinical governance, direct modern models of care, and lead outreach and telehealth initiatives. The position offers significant autonomy to shape departmental policy, champion health equity for diverse populations, and foster clinical excellence. You will benefit from close administrative alignment with executive leadership and dedicated time to mentor registrars and junior doctors, establishing yourself as a valued clinical educator within a team-oriented multidisciplinary setting.

Salary




This permanent full-time position provides a base salary ranging from $225,305 to $284,318 per annum, plus 12% superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading. The comprehensive package includes substantial benefits such as an attraction and retention incentive allowance of up to 50% of base salary, a 15% regional and rural attraction allowance, rent-free accommodation, a motor vehicle allowance, an inaccessibility allowance, and professional development funding with 3.6 weeks of paid study leave. Inclusive of all allowances on top of the base rate, the estimated total remuneration package ranges between $593,442 and $724,710 per annum.

Requirements
Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) or equivalent.
SIMG Obstetricians and Gynaecologists with substantial comparability from RANZCOG or eligibility for the expedited registration pathway are encouraged to apply.
