About us
UltraPlus Service is a subsidiary of 360 International Trading Pty Ltd, a distributor of consumer electronics, home appliances and micro-mobility products across Australia and New Zealand. The group’s portfolio includes Roborock, Segway-Ninebot, Navimow, Hohem, Bambu Lab and other consumer technology brands.
Our Segway service network includes in-house technicians, company-operated repair centres and authorised third-party repair partners. We’re looking for a technically capable leader to support this network and deliver consistent, safe and effective repair outcomes.
About the role
Based in Dandenong South and reporting to the General Manager, you will lead technical assessments, engineering testing, fault investigations and technical improvement activities for Segway products across Australia and New Zealand.
You will be the senior technical escalation point for complex electrical, electronic and electromechanical systems, including battery management systems, motor drives and electronic controllers. Working closely with technicians, repair partners and Segway’s technical and engineering teams, you will analyse recurring failures, evaluate system performance, improve diagnostic methods and implement approved technical solutions.
The role combines engineering technology applications, technical leadership and support for the repair network, with a strong focus on system reliability, diagnostic accuracy, technical process improvement and product safety.
Your responsibilities
- Lead and provide technical guidance to the in-house Segway technical team, coordinating engineering-related technical activities and supporting complex system diagnostics and fault investigations.
- Analyse the performance and operation of electrical, electronic and electromechanical systems, including battery management systems, motor drives and electronic controllers, to identify technical faults and assess system reliability.
- Conduct and evaluate technical testing and diagnostic procedures, analyse test results and performance data, and document findings to support engineering assessments and technical improvements.
- Collaborate with Segway's engineering and technical teams to investigate recurring system faults, evaluate potential technical solutions and implement approved engineering modifications and corrective measures.
- Provide engineering-related technical support to company-operated repair centres and authorised repair partners, including complex troubleshooting, technical assessments and guidance on the application of engineering procedures.
- Analyse recurring technical failures, system performance and repair quality data to identify underlying technical issues and recommend improvements to existing engineering processes and procedures.
- Assess the technical specifications, compatibility and performance requirements of replacement components and spare parts to support system reliability and effective technical operations across Australia and New Zealand.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to diagnostic tools, testing equipment and technical procedures to enhance the accuracy, efficiency and reliability of engineering testing and fault analysis.
- Prepare and maintain engineering-related technical documentation, testing procedures and technical reports, ensuring that relevant engineering standards, technical specifications and safety requirements are appropriately applied.
- Prepare technical assessment reports and provide recommendations to management on engineering-related improvements, recurring system issues and the technical development of Segway's service and repair network.
What you’ll bring
- A relevant qualification in electrical, electronic, mechatronic or a closely related engineering discipline, with practical experience in applying engineering principles to technical analysis, testing and system improvement.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate complex electrical, electronic and electromechanical faults, interpret diagnostic data and evaluate technical test results.
- Experience conducting or evaluating technical testing, assessing system performance and identifying opportunities to improve existing technical processes and procedures.
- Experience providing technical guidance to engineering or technical staff, including reviewing complex technical issues and supporting the implementation of appropriate technical solutions.
- A sound understanding of electrical testing equipment, component reliability, technical specifications and relevant engineering and safety standards.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, including the ability to prepare technical assessment reports, testing documentation and technical recommendations, and work effectively with engineering teams, manufacturers and service partners.
- A systematic and accountable approach to engineering problem-solving, with a strong commitment to technical quality, system reliability and product safety.
- Experience with Segway, e-scooters, e-mobility products, electronics or comparable electromechanical systems will be highly regarded. Experience in technical testing, system diagnostics and engineering-related support across multiple service locations is also desirable.
What we offer
- Direct reporting to the General Manager, with scope to improve technical service performance.
- Responsibility for Segway technical support across Australia and New Zealand.
- The opportunity to lead technicians and strengthen the capability of an expanding repair network.
- Close collaboration with Segway’s technical and engineering teams.
- Scope to improve diagnostic methods, repair standards and product reliability.
