Straightline Civil Services is seeking a reliable and experienced Tipper/Water Truck Labourer to join our dynamic team in Emerald, QLD. This is a causal/contract position permanent after probation that plays a crucial role in our civil construction operations. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining tipper trucks and water trucks whilst ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently on site. This position is essential to the smooth running of our construction projects and directly contributes to the success of our operations across regional Queensland.
Key responsibilities
- Operate tipper trucks and water trucks in accordance with all safety regulations and company procedures
- Load, transport and unload materials safely and efficiently to and from construction sites
- Perform routine maintenance and pre-start checks on vehicles to ensure they are in safe working condition
- Maintain accurate records of loads, journeys and fuel consumption
- Assist with general site labour duties as required
- Communicate effectively with site supervisors and other team members regarding deliveries and site conditions
- Adhere to all health and safety requirements and maintain a clean, organised work environment
- Follow all environmental regulations regarding waste disposal and water management
- Report any vehicle defects or safety concerns immediately to management
- Ensure compliance with traffic laws and company vehicle policies at all times
What we're looking for
- Current, valid Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) driver's licence
- Proven experience operating tipper trucks and/or water trucks in construction or civil works environments
- Competency-based training or certification in plant and machinery operation
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices relevant to construction and vehicle operation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment
- Excellent communication skills and reliability
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour
- Preferably hold a National Heavy Vehicle Driver Fatigue Management course certificate
- Experience with load restraint and load management best practices
