Library Services Lead – Assets & Infrastructure

About the Role

As Library Services Lead – Assets & Infrastructure, you will lead the strategic planning, renewal and delivery of library assets and infrastructure to support sustainable, accessible and contemporary library services. You will develop asset strategies and investment plans, coordinate capital works and improvement projects, and pursue funding opportunities that strengthen service capacity and meet community needs.

Reporting to the Coordinator Library Services, the core responsibilities include:

- Develop evidence-based asset management strategies, lifecycle plans and investment priorities informed by asset performance, utilisation and future community needs.
- Oversee the planning, renewal and optimisation of library facilities, collections, furniture, technology, self-service infrastructure, the Library Van and library lockers to support safe,



accessible and fit-for-purpose services.
- Plan and coordinate infrastructure projects, refurbishments and capital works from planning through to implementation, delivering outcomes aligned with service and Council priorities.
- Identify grants and investment partnerships, prepare business cases and funding submissions, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advocate for sustainable investment in library infrastructure.

About You

- A tertiary qualification in Library and Information Management, Asset Management, Facilities Management, Project Management or a related discipline, or extensive experience in a similar strategic leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic asset and infrastructure planning, management and renewal, using data, community insights and asset performance to develop lifecycle plans, business cases and investment priorities.
- An understanding of contemporary public library services, collections, technologies and community infrastructure, and how asset planning supports equitable access and service excellence.
- Demonstrated success identifying, securing and managing grant funding, investment opportunities or infrastructure projects, with the ability to build compelling cases for investment and influence decisions.
- Highly developed communication, relationship management, negotiation and collaboration skills, including preparing strategic plans, reports and funding submissions and building productive partnerships across organisational boundaries.
