Location: Esperance, WA, 6448 Full-Time: Immediate start Job Title: Agricultural & Horticultural Mobile Plant Operators Hourly Rate: $79,500 - $85,000 Job Closes Date: 30 Days About the Role: Our client is a leading organisation at the forefront of agricultural and forestry resource management. They specialise in the sustainable cultivation and processing of natural resources, transforming raw materials into valuable products through advanced operational techniques.

Duties and Responsibilities: Pre-Operational Setup and Execution:

- Meticulously prepare and position a diverse range of agricultural and forestry processing plant machinery and equipment for optimal operational readiness, ensuring strict adherence to all safety protocols.
- Expertly operate tractor-drawn and self-propelled plant for comprehensive land preparation, including ploughing, sowing, fertilising, cultivating, and harvesting of crops, with a keen focus on preventing any damage to the produce.
- Skillfully operate specialised plant for the precise holding, lifting, and cutting of trees and timber, ensuring maximum yield and effective resource utilization.

Advanced Plant Operation and Material Handling:

- Confidently manoeuvre various attachments for the controlled lifting, swinging, releasing, and sorting of trees and logs, demonstrating a high level of dexterity and control.
- Operate auxiliary plant such as high-capacity chipping machines and robust log splitting machines to process raw timber materials effectively.




- Efficiently feed felled trees into advanced processing units for limb stripping and precise log cutting, followed by accurate loading of processed logs onto designated stockpiles and into transport trucks.

Performance Monitoring, Maintenance, and Reporting:

- Systematically calibrate and continuously monitor the performance of all mobile plant machinery, making exact adjustments to implement speed, height, depth, and material distribution or collection rates as dictated by operational needs and environmental conditions.
- Conduct regular servicing of all plant equipment and undertake minor repairs to ensure sustained operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate and detailed production records, meticulously documenting all operational activities, material throughput, and any deviations encountered during the workday.
- Prepare comprehensive work reports that effectively summarize daily operations, highlight key achievements, and identify any areas requiring attention or improvement.

Requirements:

- Relevant plant operation certifications or AQF Certificate II in Mobile Plant Operations or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 2 years' full-time experience operating agricultural and/or forestry mobile plant machinery.
- Proficiency in calibrating and monitoring plant performance.
- Ability to perform routine servicing and minor repairs on plant equipment.
- Strong understanding of safe operating practices in agricultural and forestry environments.
- Excellent record-keeping and reporting skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
