Serving local residents and visitors to the Yorke Peninsula region, the business offers takeaway food, everyday essentials, newspapers, magazines, lottery products and gifts.

The position combines customer service leadership, staff coordination, merchandising and operational oversight. The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

- Direct daily retail operations across deli, takeaway, convenience merchandise and newsagency service areas.
- Supervise service staff, allocate duties and monitor performance to maintain consistent customer service.
- Prepare staff rosters, review attendance records and coordinate payroll information for accurate workforce administration.
- Handle customer enquiries, complaints, refunds and payment issues while maintaining a welcoming store workplace.
- Oversee point-of-sale transactions, cash handling procedures and daily reconciliation of retail takings.
- Monitor store presentation, cleanliness and merchandising standards throughout trading hours.
- Prepare daily sales reports, operational records and compliance documentation for management review.
- Identify service bottlenecks and implement practical improvements to retail workflows and customer experience.
- Determine stock levels,



reorder merchandise and coordinate deliveries with suppliers.
- Maintain stock records, conduct inventory checks and minimise wastage across perishable products.
- Review sales trends, determine product mix and implement appropriate pricing and promotional activities.
- Prepare retail budgets, monitor operating costs and assess overall store financial performance.
- Coordinate staff training, workplace safety procedures and adherence to applicable retail regulations.
- Promote newspapers, gifts, lottery products and convenience lines through effective in-store displays.

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:

- A relevant Diploma or higher qualification, or at least three years of relevant experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
- Minimum 12 months' recent, directly relevant retail management experience in a convenience store or closely comparable retail environment.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise retail employees, allocate daily responsibilities and maintain consistent customer service standards.
- Practical experience managing point-of-sale systems, cash handling, financial transactions and accurate daily operational reporting and records.
- Sound knowledge of stock control, product ordering, merchandising, pricing and monitoring sales across varied retail categories.
- Ability to prepare staff rosters, monitor attendance and coordinate workforce administration within a busy retail workplace.
- Strong organisational, leadership and communication skills, with an understanding of workplace safety, retail compliance and operational priorities.
- Ability to manage competing responsibilities in a fast-paced retail environment and work weekends and public holidays when required.
