About the Chance
A rare opportunity exists for an experienced production, operations, or nursery leader to join a seventh-generation nursery with a long-standing reputation in the horticulture industry.
Based in Griffith, NSW, this role will lead a commercial nursery operation while supporting the continued growth of its potted plant division. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring active involvement with the team and day-to-day operations.
We welcome applications from professionals with experience in nursery production, horticulture, agriculture, tree crops, intensive farming, or similar production-based environments.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the overall performance of the nursery, including production, people, safety, quality, and financial outcomes.
Key duties include:

- Managing daily nursery operations with a focus on plant health, quality, and production efficiency.
- Overseeing pest and disease management programs, including compliance and record keeping.
- Monitoring and adjusting irrigation and fertilisation programs based on crop requirements and environmental conditions.
- Conducting regular crop inspections and coordinating corrective actions where required.
- Planning labour, production schedules, and resources to meet seasonal demands.
- Coordinating spraying, maintenance, and crop movement activities with team leaders.
- Leading quality assurance processes to ensure products meet customer and industry standards.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity,



quality, and efficiency.
- Managing budgets, costs, and operational performance.
- Developing team capability, leadership, and succession planning.
- Maintaining a safe, productive, and positive workplace culture.
- Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders.

About You
You are an experienced operational leader who enjoys managing people, improving performance, and delivering results.
You may currently be working as a:

- Nursery Manager
- Production Manager
- Operations Manager
- Farm Manager
- Or in a similar leadership role

Ideally, you will have:

- Proven experience leading teams in a production-based environment.
- Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing labour, budgets, and operational priorities.
- A practical, hands-on leadership style.
- Sound knowledge of workplace safety and risk management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Exposure to horticulture, nursery production, agriculture, forestry, or tree crop industries.

Formal qualifications in horticulture, agriculture, or a related field are advantageous; however, demonstrated leadership and operational experience will be equally valued.
