About the opportunity:

A global qualified services firm is building out the cloud and platform engineering capability of its Sydney engineering practice, delivering cloud platforms, software and AI solutions for clients, with financial services a key sector. This role leads a technical workstream end to end: you'll own the architecture from the landing zone up, set the technical standards your team builds to, and be the person clients and delivery leads turn to when a problem gets hard. It suits a technical lead who wants to keep building while growing the engineers around them.

The role:

- Lead a technical workstream and a team of engineers, owning architecture and build through to production
- Run architecture and code reviews, including AI-generated output, holding a high bar for security and production-readiness
- Be a key technical contact for clients, turning complex requirements into practical solutions
- Own system performance, security posture and resilience, and act as the escalation point
- Build accelerators, scope new opportunities and help shape how the practice works

What you'll bring:

- 6 to 10 years in AWS engineering,



architecture or technical leadership, including leading teams
- Multi-account platform architecture with Control Tower, Landing Zone Accelerator, Transit Gateway and Entra ID federation
- Strong IaC with AWS CDK and Terraform, and CI/CD pipeline design
- Practical experience delivering solutions with Amazon Bedrock and generative AI
- Experience supporting or leading enterprise transitions to cloud-native AWS

Financial services domain knowledge, a consulting background and project financial management experience are all highly regarded.
