About The Role

We’re partnering with a well-established, multi-entity Melbourne organisation to appoint a Financial Accounting Manager. This is a career-defining move for an audit qualified at Manager level or above who’s ready to stop reviewing other people’s numbers and start owning them. You’ll lead a capable team, report directly into senior finance leadership, and have the scope to shape how the function runs.

Responsibilities

- Lead and develop a team of Financial Accountants, and oversee delivery of consolidated statutory accounts for a complex, multi-entity, multi-structure group
- Provide technical accounting advice on the tax and accounting impact of the group’s investments and transactions
- Own the group’s performance management platform, OneStream, which is used for financial reporting and consolidations
- Drive continuous improvement by finding opportunities to streamline processes through effective use of AI and automation
- Manage tax effect accounting, including preparing and analysing deferred tax calculations and writing CFO-level papers on deferred tax balances




- Partner with finance and operational stakeholders across the group

Skills

- CA or CPA qualified
- Experience at Manager level or above in external audit at a Big 4 or mid-tier firm, ideally across complex group or multi-entity clients
- Strong technical depth in consolidations, statutory reporting and accounting standards
- Solid working knowledge of tax effect accounting and deferred tax
- Experience leading and developing junior staff, and the confidence to present complex issues clearly to the CFO and non-finance stakeholders
