Flight Control is seeking a mobile application developer to help bring our education web application to teachers and students through a dedicated mobile app. We welcome candidates with a range of experience, from entry-level developers ready to grow to experienced professionals with a record of delivering polished mobile products. Candidates should have experience with Kotlin, Swift, or both.
About The Company
Flight Control is an education web app development company focused on creating useful digital experiences for the education community. We are expanding our existing product so teachers and students can access its offerings through a dedicated mobile application. This work will help make the product more convenient to use across devices and support the ways educators and learners interact with digital tools throughout their day.
Our team values thoughtful product development, dependable collaboration, and explicit communication. As we extend the product into mobile, we are looking for someone who is interested in contributing to a developing initiative and working closely with colleagues to turn requirements into practical, user-friendly experiences.
About The Role
As a Mobile Application Developer, you will contribute to the development and improvement of Flight Control’s mobile app for teachers and students. You may work in Kotlin for Android development, Swift for iOS development, or both, depending on your skills and the needs of the project. The position is suitable for candidates at different stages of their careers, and responsibilities can be shaped around the successful candidate’s experience.
You will generally report to one designated team member and collaborate with other colleagues as the product evolves. We are looking for a developer who approaches work responsibly, communicates clearly, and is comfortable asking questions, sharing progress, and responding constructively to feedback. If you have completed relevant mobile projects, please be prepared to share examples or discuss your contributions.
Qualifications
Applicants should have practical knowledge of Kotlin, Swift, or both, whether gained through professional work, education, independent study, or personal projects. A portfolio, app store listing, code sample, or project description that demonstrates your work is welcome. We are interested in understanding your role in each project, the decisions you made, and what you learned during development.
Robust written and verbal communication skills are important, as is the ability to work effectively with a team. You should demonstrate a dependable work ethic, sound problem-solving habits, and an interest in building software that serves teachers and students. Candidates should be willing to learn, adapt to project needs, and communicate early about questions, progress, or potential challenges.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the design, development, testing, and ongoing improvement of Flight Control’s mobile application. Build or support mobile features using Kotlin and/or Swift,
based on project priorities and your expertise. Work with the designated reporting contact and relevant team members to understand requirements, share progress, and coordinate development tasks.
Help identify and resolve defects, verify that changes work as intended, and consider usability and reliability throughout the development process. Participate in discussions about how the existing web product can be adapted for mobile use. Document relevant implementation details, communicate blockers promptly, and incorporate feedback into your work. Contribute ideas that may improve the experience for teachers and students while keeping product goals and technical considerations in view.
Benefits
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a mobile expansion of an existing education product and to work on features intended for teachers and students. The position is open to a broad range of experience levels, providing an opportunity to apply established skills or continue developing them through practical project work. You will have a clear primary reporting contact and the chance to collaborate with a team while sharing your mobile development experience.
Specific employment terms and available benefits will be discussed during the hiring process.
Equal Opportunity
Flight Control is committed to fair and inclusive hiring. We welcome applicants with different backgrounds, perspectives, and levels of experience who meet the role’s requirements. Employment decisions are made based on relevant skills, qualifications, and business needs, without discrimination in accordance with applicable laws.
