About The Company

Our Melbourne-based team is committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment in which students can engage with their studies and feel part of a community. Accurate information and accessible records are important to the effective delivery of our work.

The File

Clerk will contribute to this effort by supporting the quality, organization, and availability of information across company databases and computer systems.

About The Role The File Clerk is responsible for entering, reviewing, updating, and organizing information drawn from source documents. This position suits a detail-focused person who can work carefully with both text-based and numerical data while meeting agreed deadlines. You will help ensure that records are complete, consistent, and easy to retrieve, and that information is handled appropriately.

The role also includes responding to information requests, supporting document scanning and printing, and reporting equipment issues.

You will work with established procedures and priorities, while using sound judgment when identifying errors or incomplete records.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent; additional computer training or relevant certification will be an advantage. Previous experience in data entry, file management, or administrative work is preferred. You should be comfortable using Microsoft Office and data-entry programs, and familiar with general administrative duties and common office equipment, including scanners and printers.

Strong typing speed and accuracy are important, along with sound spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate careful attention to detail, strong organizational habits, and the ability to stay focused on assigned work. Discretion and a clear understanding of confidentiality are essential when handling company information.

Clear communication skills and a practical, dependable approach to resolving routine issues will also support success in this position.

Responsibilities

Enter text-based and numerical information from source documents into company systems accurately and within required time limits. Compile, verify, and sort information according to priorities before computer entry. Review records for omissions, inconsistencies,

and other errors; make corrections where appropriate and check completed entries for accuracy.

Research missing details and follow up on incomplete documents to obtain the information needed for reliable records. Apply data-entry procedures and program techniques consistently, and raise questions when information cannot be verified. Generate reports, save completed work in designated locations, and carry out routine backup tasks as directed.

Scan documents and print files when required, maintain orderly digital and paper records, and retrieve relevant files in response to information requests. Protect confidential information, use office equipment correctly, and promptly report malfunctions or other issues that may affect daily work.

Benefits

This role offers the chance to contribute to the day-to-day operations of an English language learning community in central Melbourne. You will support work that helps keep important information accurate, organized, and accessible. The position also provides the chance to apply and strengthen administrative, data-handling, and record-management skills within a professional education setting.

Details about employment conditions and any applicable benefits will be discussed during the recruitment process.

Employment decisions are made fairly and based on role requirements, qualifications, and demonstrated ability. We encourage applicants to share any reasonable adjustments they may need during the recruitment process.
