About BIGG BOXX

BIGG BOXX is a growing Australian truck and van rental company specialising in one-way hire between major cities. We help customers move interstate with the flexibility to collect a vehicle in one city and return it in another.

Our rental fleet includes cargo vans and small moving trucks up to 4.5 tonnes GVM, suitable for a standard Australian car licence. As our national network expands, we are looking for a capable, hands-on person to take ownership of our Sydney fleet and yard operations.

About the role

You will be responsible for keeping our Sydney vehicles organised, well maintained and ready for their next booking.

This is an active, practical role combining vehicle inspections, basic mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance coordination, customer handovers and yard organisation. You will need to spot problems early, resolve minor issues within your capabilities and arrange qualified repair support when required.

You should be equally comfortable inspecting a vehicle, speaking with a customer, coordinating a mechanic and updating our online records. Occasional interstate vehicle relocations and overnight travel are also part of the role.

Key responsibilities

Manage the daily arrival, preparation and departure of BIGG BOXX trucks and vans in Sydney.

Coordinate customer pickups and returns, explain vehicle operation and complete accurate handover records.

Conduct pre-hire and return inspections covering tyres, fluid levels, warning lights, visible defects, damage,



cleanliness and general vehicle condition.

Identify basic mechanical and electrical faults and carry out minor repairs or adjustments where competent and authorised.

Coordinate servicing, tyres, breakdown repairs and specialist work with external providers, following through to completion.

Assess vehicles arriving from other cities with reported faults and organise the work needed before their next hire.

Identify and escalate safety concerns, keeping vehicles with unresolved safety defects out of service.

Keep vehicles clean, presentable and ready for bookings, completing or arranging cleaning as required.

Maintain an organised yard and accurate records of vehicle locations, keys, inspections, photographs and maintenance through our online CRM.

Work closely with our bookings and operations teams to prioritise vehicle preparation and minimise downtime.

Collect, deliver or relocate company vehicles locally and interstate when required, including occasional overnight trips.

What you’ll bring

Practical mechanical knowledge and confidence recognising common vehicle faults.

The ability to resolve minor issues independently and recognise when a qualified mechanic is needed.

Relevant experience in automotive servicing, vehicle rental,



fleet operations, a workshop or a similar hands-on environment.

A full, valid Australian car driver’s licence, with confidence driving cargo vans and small moving trucks.

Willingness to undertake occasional interstate driving and overnight travel.

Strong organisation, sound judgement and the ability to manage changing priorities independently.

Clear communication skills and a professional, helpful approach to customers.

Confidence using a smartphone, taking inspection photos and maintaining accurate digital records.

A solid commitment to vehicle safety, reliability and taking responsibility for your work.

Practical mechanical capability is essential. A formal automotive qualification is highly regarded but is not essential. A heavy vehicle licence is not required for this role.
