Curious about technology and enjoy connecting with people? Help shape WA’s digital workforce.
As our Industry Engagement Manager, you’ll turn industry conversations and evidence into clear insights that help inform training and workforce priorities for WA’s Business and Technology sectors. Reporting to the CEO, you’ll explore emerging workforce issues and help make diverse industry voices heard.
Your work involves the important WA Jobs, Education, and Training (WAJET) project, measuring occupational supply and demand, while you will also be responsible for bringing unique WA perspectives to feed into reviews of nationally recognised vocational training products. From time to time, you’ll contribute to establishing or varying traineeships on the Western Australian VET Qualifications Register, check the suitability of qualifications for secondary school students, and other strategic projects.
You’ll bring an understanding of VET as well as an interest in the digital and technology landscape - from IT support, networking and programming to data, cyber security, AI and everything in between - plus the curiosity to ask thoughtful questions and understand how technology is changing workforce and training needs.
What the next superstar will bring to the role
Stakeholder engagement: relationships and communication
• Build and nurture relationships with industry stakeholders, communicating confidently with people across different specialisations, roles and levels of seniority.
- Grow networks,
start meaningful conversations and listen attentively to capture diverse perspectives on skills, training and workforce needs.
Evidence, analysis and reporting: turn complexity into clarity
• Collect robust evidence through stakeholder conversations, desktop research, literature reviews, surveys and other research methods.
- Analyse complex information, identify key themes and make sense of differing and at times conflicting stakeholder perspectives.
- Distil disparate views and evidence into a single, coherent source of information, with succinct findings tailored to the audience.
• Write for Government: produce clear, concise, evidence-based reports that meet Government writing standards, with strong proofreading and editing skills.
Time management and teamwork: keep multiple priorities moving
• Work independently and take ownership of your projects while contributing to a small, team-oriented team.
- Manage your time effectively, juggle multiple priorities at once and keep research, stakeholder engagement and reporting on track across competing deadlines.
- Bring a continuous improvement mindset and actively develop your skills as the role, and the digital and technology landscape evolves.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential! A specific qualification is less important than the relevant skills, curiosity and practical experience you bring to the role.
