Lower Murray Water is a major regional water corporation providing essential urban water, wastewater and irrigation services to communities along the Murray River, from Kerang to the South Australian border. Headquartered in Mildura and operating both urban and rural water businesses, LMW supports households, businesses and large-scale irrigation operations across one of Australia’s most productive agricultural regions, playing an important role in regional prosperity and the communities it serves.

About the Role An chance now exists to lead Lower Murray Water through its next phase as Managing Director. Reporting to the Board, the Managing Director will provide enterprise-wide leadership of the organisation, with accountability for strategy, organisational performance, financial sustainability, major capital investment, net-zero carbon emissions, enterprise risk and stakeholder relationships. The position will bring a strong focus on organisational capability, culture and safety, driving continuous improvement and innovation.

This is a role with genuine regional impact. The Managing Director will balance the delivery of safe, reliable and affordable essential services with water security, climate resilience, major infrastructure and environmental programs,



and the long-term needs of customers and communities. The role will also oversee delivery and transition of the Victorian Murray Floodplain Restoration Project, an important environmental program connected to Basin Plan outcomes.

About You The successful candidate will be an experienced executive leader with the strategic judgement, commercial acumen and stakeholder capability to lead a complex, regulated and asset-intensive organisation. With a proven ability to embed cultures of safety and performance, they will bring experience delivering major infrastructure or capital programs, and building effective relationships with Boards, government, regulators, customers and communities. Importantly, they will be a visible and trusted regional leader with the integrity, resilience and community focus to balance reliable service delivery with water security, environmental stewardship and the long-term prosperity of the region.
