DWS is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to join a Strategy and Architecture team within Technology & Systems. This role will drive business value by developing and managing solution architecture in alignment with enterprise architecture standards, supporting secure, sustainable and integrated technology outcomes.

Role Requirements

- Experience working as an ICT Architect in the utilities or a similar industry.
- Experience working with Operational Technology.
- A commitment to ongoing learning.
- Industry-recognised cyber security certification such as CISSP.
- IT Service Management qualifications such as ITIL.
- AUSCheck or AGSVA Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.

Lead Solution Architecture Strategy and Translate into Outcomes

- Lead the development and implementation of long-term, enterprise-wide solution architecture strategies and future-state reference architectures aligned with strategic priorities to deliver secure, sustainable and integrated systems.
- Research and develop target solution architecture roadmaps that meet evolving business needs and enable agility in response to market dynamics, internal drivers and technological advancements.
- Drive the strategic vision for Technology, including architecture principles, standards and design patterns; oversee the solution architecture delivery model and monitor performance metrics.
- Establish robust architecture frameworks and standards covering solution, technology and infrastructure domains that directly align with business strategies and key performance targets.
- Engage key business stakeholders through a co-design model to develop and embed a unified, whole-of-organisation technology strategy.
- Build consensus,



buy-in and active support for architecture strategies and frameworks across all business units through clear, collaborative communication.
- Conduct market scanning and peer utility benchmarking to identify emerging technology trends, innovations and strategic opportunities.

Develop and Govern Solution Architecture (Portfolio & Initiative Level)

- Partner with business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into compliant, secure, supportable and architecturally sound solution, application and infrastructure designs.
- Evaluate business functions, growth strategies and IT processes to inform technology investment decisions within established budget envelopes.
- Design fit-for-purpose technology solutions and standards that meet business requirements while respecting project timelines and constraints.
- Govern solution designs via formal architecture reviews, ensuring full strategic alignment prior to build commitments.
- Apply analytical and technical models to uncover architectural opportunities, optimise performance and remediate technical risks.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive enterprise capability maps, tracking technology dependencies, lifecycle risks, costs and technical debt.
- Drive application rationalisation and landscape simplification to enhance operational efficiency, maintainability and security.
- Steer ICT governance and direction across the organisation, ensuring proposed solution options balance security, business value and financial sustainability.

Communicate, Influence, Challenge,



and Apply Insights to Enterprise Architecture

- Produce high-impact technology reviews, options papers and business cases to support informed, enterprise-level architecture decisions.
- Maintain and continuously improve architecture standards, templates and metrics to foster interoperability, data integrity, security and scalability.
- Provide subject-matter expertise and architectural advisory services across application, infrastructure and technology domains.
- Present complex enterprise, solution and security architecture strategies clearly and persuasively to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Mentor and upskill team members to build internal architecture capability and support long-term organisational growth.
