The Senior Trading Operations Analyst will be a markets and trading subject-matter expert within Betashares Direct Operations, helping design and deliver new trading capabilities and enhance existing trading capabilities. Working closely with the Product Owner, the role will translate trading desk, market infrastructure and post-trade requirements into transparent product and operational processes that support a simple retail customer experience. The role will partner across Product, Engineering, Risk and Compliance to shape scalable workflows, controls and operating models.

It offers broad exposure to the design and implementation of new investment capabilities, with the opportunity to influence how institutional trading concepts are translated into accessible customer experiences.

Role Responsibilities

- Act as the trading and markets subject-matter expert for the design, implementation and enhancement of Betashares Direct trading capabilities.
- Partner with the product owner to translate trading-desk workflows, market conventions and operational requirements into clear, practical product requirements for retail customers.
- Map end-to-end trade lifecycles and define scalable operational processes across execution, clearing, settlement, positions, cash, corporate actions, reconciliations and exception management.
- Identify trading, operational and control requirements for new products, including dependencies, edge cases and downstream impacts.
- Work closely with Product and Engineering to articulate requirements, support solution design and validate that new functionality reflects real world trading and operational workflows.

Compliance and other stakeholders to ensure appropriate controls, escalation pathways and operational readiness are built into new and enhanced trading capabilities including the ongoing monitoring and improvement of market misconduct and integrity controls.
- Support onboarding and integration of relevant brokers, counterparties, market infrastructure and service providers as new capabilities are introduced.
- Use trading and operational data to investigate issues, identify process improvements and support reliable, scalable customer outcomes.

Key skills and experience

Must-haves

- 5+ years' relevant experience in middle office, trading or a closely related financial markets environment.
- Demonstrated experience working on or closely with an equities trading desk, with a strong understanding of trading workflows, market structure and operational dependencies.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end trade lifecycle, including execution, clearing, settlement, positions, cash, corporate actions, reconciliations and exception management.
- Ability to translate complex trading concepts and workflows into clear product, technology and operational requirements.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

- Experience contributing to the design or implementation of new trading products, markets, systems or operational capabilities.
- Experience supporting international or multi-market trading environments.
- Experience within a retail investing, brokerage, wealth or investment platform environment.
