THE ROLE:
Do you see the shoe first when you put together an outfit? Can you explain why a look works, from proportion and colour to texture and pairing, in a way that makes people want to try it themselves? Do you love being in front of the camera as much as you love pulling looks together?
This could be the role for you.
Bared Footwear is looking for a Stylist to become the brand’s style reference: the person who sets how Bared shoes are styled and explains those choices on camera. You’ll lead the styling of Bared’s social, live shopping and digital content, and appear on camera regularly to share why each look works.
Our styling philosophy is elevated everyday: aspirational yet approachable. You dress at a considered, fashion-forward level and can explain the reasoning behind it in a way that feels accessible rather than intimidating. You bring an editorial eye and a clear understanding of how real customers get dressed.
The role sits within the Creative team and reports to the Head of Creative, taking over day-to-day styling ownership. This is a long-term, brand-building position.
WHAT THIS ROLE IS (AND ISN’T):
This role is:
- A stylist-first position. Styling is the core of the role, and on-camera work is how that expertise is shared.
- An opportunity to become a recognised and trusted face of styling at Bared.
- Grounded in genuine fashion authority, delivered with warmth and accessibility.
- A chance to define footwear styling for a premium Australian brand.
- Self-directed. You source, style, plan and film with vision and initiative.
This role isn’t:
- A content creator or social media role. Our Social and Content teams own channel strategy, publishing and community management. You own the styling and the styling voice.
- An editorial campaign stylist role. You’ll assist on shoots, with scope to grow into campaign styling over time.
- An influencer partnership or freelance engagement.
- A role that trades fashion authority for relatability. Authority is central to the position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):
Styling & Sourcing
- Lead styling for Instagram shoots, social campaigns, flat lays, staff styling sessions and day-to-day styling needs across all shoe ranges.
- Act as Style Guardian for Bared content, keeping styling consistent and on-brand throughout each season.
- Translate the Head of Creative’s seasonal direction into clear styling principles, and build and maintain the Bared style guide.
- Independently source clothing, accessories and props, drawing on your network, taste and resourcefulness to create elevated, considered looks.
- Build outfits that lead with the Bared shoe, choosing the bags, accessories and garments that make footwear the hero of each look.
- Style the range with commercial intent,
creating looks that give customers a reason to buy statement and slower-moving styles.
- Prepare and dress talent on set, including steaming and fitting.
On-Camera Styling Expertise
- Appear regularly across Instagram, TikTok, live shopping, eDMs and paid social, explaining your styling choices: why a shoe, proportion, colour, texture or pairing works, and how customers can recreate the look.
- Create educational, trend-aware content that shows customers how to style Bared shoes across occasions, seasons and lifestyles.
- Host live shopping sessions with expertise, personality and in-depth product knowledge.
- Run styling sessions for Bared retail teams, building styling confidence and product knowledge across our stores.
- Plan and run filming days, from pulling looks and developing styling stories to managing logistics on set.
- Shoot and edit quick-turnaround styling content using tools such as CapCut, Reels and TikTok, working with the Social and Content teams on final edits and publishing.
Trend Research & Product Insight
- Monitor global fashion trends, cultural moments and emerging styling conversations, and present insights to the Head of Creative.
- Contribute styling concepts and seasonal story ideas for campaigns and lookbooks, aligned to commercial priorities.
- Share styling insights with Product and Buying, including which styles customers find challenging to wear, common customer questions and gaps in the range.
- Partner with the Social and Content teams on seasonal planning and content storylines.
ABOUT YOU:

- A styling portfolio (looks, lookbooks, shoots, flat lays or personal styling work) and a short showreel of 3–6 on-camera clips where you talk through a look.
- Genuine fashion authority, with a strong understanding of trends, classics, proportion, colour and texture, and the ability to explain why a look works.
- A clear point of view and an instinct for what makes a look feel elevated rather than simply correct.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary and premium designers and brands, and how they pair with footwear and accessories.
- Footwear and accessory styling expertise, with the ability to make the shoe the hero of every look.
- A refined personal style aligned with Bared’s aesthetic:
contemporary, considered, textured and editorial.

- A self-directed approach. You source your own samples, develop your own styling stories and plan your own filming days.
- Commercial awareness, including an understanding of styling as a sales tool that builds customer confidence and desire.
- Strong organisational skills across samples, rails, styling decks and shoot schedules, with the ability to manage several projects at once.
- Confidence using CapCut, Reels and TikTok editing tools.
- A current driver’s licence.
Desirable
- Live shopping or live-stream styling experience.
- A tertiary qualification in fashion, styling, communications, journalism or visual arts.
