Due to significant growth, Rubix Underwriting has a brand-new prospect for an Assistant Underwriter to join the team in this exciting role with responsibility for underwriting complex industrial and other strata risks.

With nearly 50 years of combined insurance and risk management experience, the team at Rubix brings a wealth of knowledge which is essential in the dynamic world of strata insurance. Our tailored insurance solutions are informed by our in-depth understanding of strata legislation.

This position will work closely with Underwriters and has the responsibility for ensuring that appropriate risk exposure protection and mitigation is achieved by applying underwriting guidelines, assessing occupancy/tenancy activities, reviewing risk surveys and considering appropriate limits, as well contribution to new business growth objectives by pursuing profitable new business growth opportunities.

Other responsibilities of the role would include but are not limited to:

- Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders including customers, brokers, business partners and colleagues.
- Underwriting and pricing accounts in accordance with the underwriting guidelines and delegated underwriting authority.
- Following the underwriting philosophy and rationale as set out by Management.




- Maintain high degree of expertise in all products and services and representing the company in the best light.
- Address all enquiries from customers professionally and accurately.

What are we looking for?

Ideally, we would be looking for someone with a minimum of two years’ experience working in a similar capacity within commercial property, and also has experience with manual processes, providing a more personal touch, rather than solely relying on systems to assess a clients’ risk. We are after someone who has a proactive approach to learning how to underwrite complex risks and applying risk mitigation.

- Strata insurance or commercial property underwriting experience and/or knowledge e.g. underwriting, claims,
- Certificate IV in General Insurance or equivalent is desirable.
- Knowledge of the legal / legislative environment in which the insurance industry operates.
- Knowledge of basic accounting and claims procedures.
