About The Role

ISS is seeking an AI Developer to help turn emerging AI technologies into effective business solutions. Based at either the Melbourne CBD office or the Macquarie Park office in Sydney, depending on your location, you will work with colleagues across the business and technology functions. You will progress AI opportunities from early concepts and proofs of concept through pilots, deployment and ongoing improvement.

Your work will include developing AI agents, copilots, intelligent applications and automated workflows using enterprise-approved platforms. You will help ensure solutions meet business needs while remaining reliable, maintainable, secure and aligned with relevant governance requirements.

Qualifications

You will bring commercial experience developing and deploying AI, automation, data or intelligent software solutions. Strong programming skills in Python and SQL are essential, along with experience integrating applications and enterprise systems through APIs and structured data interfaces. You should have hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry,



Power Platform or comparable enterprise AI technologies.

A solid understanding of generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and AI agent development is also important.

You will be able to turn complex business challenges into secure, user-focused technical solutions and apply sound software development practices across source control, testing, deployment and production support. Robust analytical, troubleshooting and stakeholder communication skills are required. A tertiary qualification in artificial intelligence, computer science, software engineering, data science, information technology or a related field is preferred; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

Experience with Azure OpenAI, vector databases, Semantic Kernel or other AI orchestration frameworks would be advantageous. Familiarity with enterprise governance, cybersecurity, privacy, regulated environments, DevOps, cloud monitoring, observability, cost optimisation or scalable solution architecture is also welcome.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and deploy AI agents, copilots, intelligent applications and automated workflows that address defined business needs. Translate requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions, using technologies such as Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Azure AI Services, Azure AI Foundry, Python, SQL and APIs.



Build integrations between AI applications, enterprise systems and business data sources, and configure prompts, RAG patterns, orchestration logic and appropriate governance controls.

Evaluate and improve solution accuracy, performance, usability, cost and business impact. Support pilots and proofs of concept, assess technical and operational viability, and recommend how promising solutions can be deployed and scaled. Monitor and support live applications, identify opportunities for improvement, and apply cybersecurity, privacy and Responsible AI principles throughout development.

Create reusable components and development standards, and maintain clear technical documentation, testing artefacts and deployment records.
