Good garden care takes more than a tidy finish. It takes someone who notices what a plant needs, respects the property they are working in and follows through on the details.

The Cultivated Garden is looking for an experienced gardener or horticulturist to help care for residential gardens across Brisbane. We focus on ongoing horticultural maintenance, thoughtful garden care and selected improvements that keep gardens healthy and well presented.

TCG is supported by North Scape, a Brisbane landscape construction business known for its focus on workmanship and collaboration with residential landscape designers. The businesses are distinct and complementary: North Scape builds landscapes; TCG cares for them over time.

The work

· Carry out regular garden maintenance, including careful pruning and hedging, mowing, edging, weeding and garden presentation.

· Help with planting, mulching, soil improvement and seasonal garden care.

· Notice plant-health, pest, disease and irrigation issues, and report or address them within your skills and authorisation.

· Operate and look after tools and equipment safely; leave each property clean and orderly.

· Keep clear job notes, communicate respectfully with clients and the team, and flag problems early.

What you will bring

· Practical garden-maintenance experience and the judgement to work carefully around established plants and clients’ property.

· Reliability, honesty and pride in finishing work properly.

· A professional approach, good communication and a willingness to keep learning.

· A current driver’s licence valid in Queensland and reliable transport to the agreed daily start location.





· Australian working rights suitable for the role. Employer-sponsored visas are not available.

A Certificate III in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens or a related field is welcome, but it is not essential if you can demonstrate equivalent practical skills. Experience in premium residential gardens, irrigation troubleshooting or supporting junior staff would also be practical. We care about what you can do and how you approach the work, rather than a fixed number of years on your CV.

What we offer

· Permanent full-time employment preferred, with 38 ordinary hours a week and an intended Monday–Friday roster.

· $36–$40 an hour based on demonstrated skills and responsibility, plus superannuation and applicable award allowances, leave loading and overtime. Permanent part-time arrangements considered for the right candidate.

· Work equipment, required PPE and uniform provided.

· Relevant paid training and regular conversations about your development.

· The opportunity to take on more responsibility as your skills and the business develop.

· A company vehicle may be available, depending on the role and level of responsibility.

You will suit this role if you enjoy caring for gardens over time, take responsibility for your work and value doing the job properly. You do not need to know everything; you do need to ask when unsure and be willing to learn.
