DIS Fire Systems is a specialist fire protection engineering and contracting company based in Seaford, Victoria. Since 2011 we have delivered complex fire detection and suppression systems across battery energy storage (BESS), data centres, power generation, defence and industrial facilities nationally. Our BESS team works on some of the largest grid scale battery projects in Australia.

The Opportunity

With our BESS portfolio growing rapidly, we are looking for a National Field Service Engineer to commission, test and maintain fire protection systems on battery energy storage sites across Australia. You will be the face of DIS Fire on site, working closely with our BESS engineering team, principal contractors and asset owners.

What You'll Do

• Commission, test and certify fire detection, gas detection and suppression systems on BESS and renewable energy sites

• Carry out routine servicing and maintenance to AS 1851 and manufacturer requirements

• Fault find and rectify issues on fire indicator panels, gas detection (off gas, H2, CO), aspirating smoke detection and releasing systems

• Service clean agent, aerosol and water mist suppression systems, including cylinder handling and exchanges

• Support explosion prevention and deflagration vent interfaces with BESS enclosures

• Prepare explicit commissioning records, service reports and defect notifications

• Liaise with site managers,



electrical contractors and clients to plan works and shutdowns

• Travel nationally to project sites, including remote and regional locations and fly in fly out work

About You

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a field service technician or engineer in fire protection, special hazards or a related industrial discipline

• Hands on experience commissioning and servicing fire detection and gas suppression systems

• Working knowledge of AS 1851 and AS 1670.1

• Experience on BESS, solar, wind, power generation or other high voltage sites is highly regarded

• Current driver licence and construction white card (essential)

• Electrical licence, FPAS accreditation, working at heights and confined space tickets highly regarded

• Strong fault finding skills and confidence working independently

• Safety focused, organised and comfortable with regular national travel
