Risk Coordinator (Part time)

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Risk Coordinator to support the implementation and maintenance of project risk management processes. Working closely with project teams and key stakeholders, you will coordinate risk assessments, monitor mitigation activities, facilitate workshops, and ensure project risks, controls, and actions are effectively managed and reported.

- 24 hours per week (can be spread across 5 days, or 3 full days etc)

- 6–12 month role

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate the review and maintenance of project risk registers alongside risk owners.

- Engage with control owners to update controls and support control effectiveness assessments and verification activities.

- Work with action owners to monitor, track, and report on risk mitigation actions and their progress.

- Facilitate effective communication between stakeholders to ensure risk information remains accurate and up to date.

- Prepare and coordinate risk workshops, including risk identification, analysis, evaluation, and treatment planning sessions.

- Support the completion and reporting of Quarterly Risk Reviews.

- Coordinate and assist with Level 2 Risk Assessments (L2RAs), including commissioning, operational, and safety-related risk assessments.

- Support assurance activities, lessons learned reviews, audits, and other ad hoc risk management initiatives.

- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of project risk management documentation, including:

- Risk Management Plans

- Vendor Risk Management Plans

- Vendor Level 2 Risk Assessments (L2RAs)

- Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)

- Project Management and Governance Documentation

- Prepare risk reports, dashboards, and status updates for project stakeholders and leadership teams.

- Promote risk awareness and support the consistent application of risk management processes across the project.

Skills & Experience





- Previous experience in a Risk Coordinator, Risk Analyst, Governance, Project Controls, or Project Coordination role.

- Understanding of project risk management principles and risk assessment methodologies.

- Experience coordinating risk workshops and engaging with multiple stakeholders.

- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and reporting.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and risk management systems.

- Experience within mining, energy, infrastructure, engineering, or major projects environments is highly regarded.

Preferred Qualifications

- Tertiary qualification in Business, Risk Management, Project Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.

- Knowledge of assurance, governance, and control management processes.

- Experience supporting project delivery, commissioning, or operational readiness activities.
