John Bell Pharmacy is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and customer-focused Senior Pharmacy Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis.

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people, takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service and is confident managing the day-to-day retail operations of the pharmacy.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is proactive, approachable and confident working independently. You will be actively engaging with customers, assisting with their needs, operating the point of sale and ensuring the pharmacy retail environment runs smoothly.

We want someone who doesn't simply wait for customers to ask for assistance, but actively approaches them, identifies opportunities to help and goes above and beyond to provide an exceptional experience.

About the Role

As a Senior Pharmacy Assistant at John Bell Pharmacy, you will play an significant hands-on role in the day-to-day operations of our retail pharmacy. This is a customer-facing position suited to someone who is confident working independently, takes initiative and genuinely enjoys helping people.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their role, proactively approaches customers and identifies opportunities to assist, rather than simply waiting to be approached. You will be expected to maintain high retail standards, drive sales through positive customer engagement and ensure every customer receives a welcoming and helpful experience.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Providing exceptional customer service and ensuring customers feel welcomed and valued.

- Proactively approaching customers, identifying their needs and offering assistance.

- Going above and beyond to ensure customers have a positive experience.

- Leading, supporting and motivating retail team members.

- Overseeing daily retail operations and ensuring the shop floor runs efficiently.

- Maintaining excellent merchandising,



stock presentation and store standards.

- Monitoring stock levels, stock replenishment and inventory management.

- Identifying opportunities to improve the customer experience and retail performance.

- Taking ownership of issues and following through to ensure they are resolved.

- Working collaboratively with pharmacists and the wider pharmacy team.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:





- Previous pharmacy assistant or retail experience.

- A genuine passion for customer service and engaging with customers.

- A friendly, approachable and confident personality.

- The ability to proactively approach customers and identify their needs.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- A hands-on approach and willingness to take ownership of daily responsibilities.

- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

- The ability to work independently, use initiative and manage competing priorities.

- A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to go above and beyond.

Experience in pharmacy retail would be advantageous but is not essential. We are particularly interested in finding the right person who shares our values and has the enthusiasm and initiative to make a difference.
