About the role:

Altrad is seeking multiple experienced Piping Supervisors to join the delivery team on a major SMP construction project at the Alkimos Desalination Plant, supporting the development of WA’s next major water source.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will provide frontline supervision across piping construction activities, leading site crews and coordinating the safe and efficient execution of works across multiple work fronts.

Working closely with engineering, quality, HSE, project controls and other construction disciplines, you will ensure piping works are delivered safely, to specification and in line with project schedules, quality requirements and applicable standards.

This is an opportunity to take a key site leadership role on a significant Perth-based infrastructure project, contributing directly to construction delivery from execution through to completion and handover.

In this role you will:

- Lead and supervise pipefitters, welders, trades assistants and subcontractors across day-to-day piping construction activities.

- Coordinate piping fabrication, installation, fit-up, welding and associated construction works across multiple work fronts.

- Plan and allocate labour, equipment, materials and resources to support efficient site execution and upcoming work fronts.

- Coordinate the installation of pipe spools, valves, supports and associated piping components in accordance with project requirements.

- Work closely with Project Engineers, Construction Management, HSE and QA/QC teams to resolve technical and construction issues.

- Ensure piping works are completed in accordance with isometric drawings, P&IDs;, specifications, ITPs, work packs, procedures and applicable Australian Standards.

- Monitor daily progress, productivity and workforce performance, identifying constraints and escalating issues that may impact project delivery.

- Coordinate interfaces with other disciplines, including structural, mechanical, electrical and civil teams, to maintain continuity of construction activities.

- Lead pre-starts, toolbox meetings and field safety interactions while maintaining Altrad’s HSEQ requirements and safe systems of work.

- Ensure appropriate permits, isolations and work controls are in place before piping activities commence.

- Coordinate inspections, testing, punch listing and completion activities, including support for pressure testing and quality requirements.

- Work closely with QA/QC personnel to ensure welding, fit-up, material traceability and inspection requirements are completed and documented.

- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to manage materials, equipment and construction interfaces.

- Provide leadership, coaching and direction to the workforce, maintaining high standards of safety, quality and workmanship.

- Maintain accurate daily records, progress updates, timesheets and construction documentation.

About you

You are an experienced, safety-focused Piping Supervisor with a solid background in piping construction across major resources, infrastructure, mining, energy, water or industrial projects.

You are comfortable leading piping crews in an active construction environment and understand the importance of planning ahead, coordinating work fronts and interfaces, and maintaining productivity without compromising safety or quality.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade, Mechanical Trade or equivalent relevant trade qualification.

- Demonstrated experience supervising piping construction crews on major projects.

- Strong knowledge of piping fabrication, fit-up, installation and associated construction activities.

- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, work packs, ITPs and project documentation.

- Strong understanding of construction safety,

quality, permit and isolation requirements.
