FinXL is seeking an experienced Technical Data Analyst to join our Data & Analytics consulting practice. In this engagement (offered as a Contract / Max Term Engagement Contract engagement), you will become a key member of our team and be deployed with a Government organisation on a high-profile transformation project. This position is based from Newcastle (Hybrid - at least 2 days per week onsite). In this position, you will focus on backend data analysis, profiling, and mapping to support an accurate, auditable migration from legacy platforms to an AWS Common Migration Data Model (CMDM).

Responsibility

- Profile legacy data using SQL to identify data quality issues, inconsistencies, and anomalies

- Define detailed, field-level source-to-target mappings and transformation rules





- Analyse gaps between legacy systems and the target cloud data model

- Build and execute reconciliation and validation scripts to verify migration accuracy

- Maintain comprehensive data dictionaries, technical specifications, and mapping documentation

- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, data architects, and cloud engineers

Key Skills & Experience

- Demonstrated track record delivering legacy-to-cloud data migration engagements

- Advanced SQL capability focused on data profiling, extraction, and reconciliation

- Strong experience defining source-to-target mapping specifications and transformation logic

- Background working within data governance frameworks or regulated government environments

- Experience with relational database platforms and cloud architectures (AWS preferred)

- Strong team-oriented communication skills with proficiency in Jira and Confluence

- Ability to work onsite in Newcastle at least 2 days per week
