Accredited Exercise Physiologist – Casual
Community and In-home Aged Care | Approx. 2 Days per Week | Career Growth & Leadership Opportunities
Adelaide | Flexible Days & Hours | Minimum 2 years of experience
$47 - $60 PH + super
Simple Integrated Care is growing, and we're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) to join our multidisciplinary allied health team.
We are initially offering a casual position of approximately two days per week, with flexible days and hours and the opportunity to increase to part-time or full-time as our services continue to expand.
As our first employed Exercise Physiologist, you'll have the opportunity to support our existing caseload, contribute to the development of our exercise physiology services and help shape how we deliver care in the community alongside our existing contracted EPs.
We’re interested in hearing from EPs with a minimum of two years’ experience who are ready to develop their independence as well as experienced clinicians looking for a flexible role with the potential to progress into clinical leadership.
Looking for a role that can grow with you?
Perhaps you're an early-career EP looking to build your experience and confidence in community healthcare.
You might be returning from extended leave, looking for greater flexibility, or wanting to combine a couple of days with us alongside an existing position.
Alternatively, you may be an experienced EP looking for an opportunity to help establish and grow a multi-disciplinary service, with the potential to take on a leadership role as the team expands.
We're interested in finding the right clinician and would welcome a conversation about what could work for you.
About Simple Integrated Care
Simple Integrated Care brings together general practice, allied health and community services to provide more coordinated and accessible healthcare.
Our team includes GPs providing care within residential aged care, alongside physiotherapists, podiatrists and other healthcare professionals working across aged care, primary care and the community.
We are particularly focused on helping older Australians maintain their mobility, independence, confidence and quality of life through practical, patient-centred healthcare.
Our approach is centred around providing quality care while supporting clinicians with the systems, relationships and multidisciplinary team they need to do their jobs well.
About the Role
This is a community-focused EP position, primarily supporting older Australians receiving services through the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) and Support at Home.
You'll work with clients in their homes and community settings,
delivering individual consultations and group-based exercise programs across metropolitan Adelaide.
Depending on your experience, interests and availability, your role may include:
- Conducting exercise physiology assessments and developing individualised exercise programs
- Working with clients to understand their health concerns, functional needs and personal goals
- Supporting older Australians to improve strength, mobility, balance and functional independence
- Delivering falls-prevention, rehabilitation and chronic disease management programs
- Providing individual consultations and facilitating group-based exercise classes
- Supporting clients to maintain their independence and confidence in everyday activities
- Managing your own caseload, clinical documentation and patient outcomes
- Working collaboratively with physiotherapists, GPs and other allied health professionals
- Contributing ideas to the development and expansion of our exercise physiology services
Our clinicians enjoy a high level of autonomy, so successful applicants must be comfortable working independently, exercising clinical judgement and managing patients outside of a traditional clinic environment.
For more experienced clinicians, this is an opportunity to be involved in something from an early stage.
As our only employed EP, you'll have the opportunity to influence how the service develops, contribute to clinical processes and programs, and potentially progress into a leadership role as we grow.
This may include supporting future recruitment, mentoring additional clinicians, contributing to professional development and helping establish a broader exercise physiology team.
This is not initially a formal management or supervision role, but there is genuine potential for greater responsibility as the service develops.
Previous experience working with older people, aged care or community-based patients is highly regarded, but it is not essential.
Finding the right clinician and culture fit is our priority. We're looking for someone who is professional, approachable and clinically confident, enjoys working collaboratively and values being trusted to manage their own clinical work.
Essential Requirements
Successful applicants must have:
- Recognised tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology
- Current accreditation as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA)
- Current right to work in Australia
- Current Australian driver's licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- Current National Police Check suitable for working with older Australians
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence working autonomously and exercising independent clinical judgement
- Appropriate professional indemnity and public liability insurance arrangements
Insurance: Our preference is for practitioners to maintain their own professional indemnity and public liability insurance. However, we welcome discussions about appropriate insurance arrangements during the application process.
Why Join Simple Integrated Care?
We want to create roles that work around good clinicians rather than expecting every clinician to fit into the same mould.
We offer:
- Flexible casual employment, initially approximately two days per week
- Negotiable working days and hours
- Opportunity to increase hours and potentially progress to part-time or full-time employment
- The opportunity to be our first directly employed EP and help grow the service
- A diverse caseload across community and aged care settings
- A combination of individual consultations and group-based exercise programs
- A supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary environment
- Opportunities to work alongside GPs, physiotherapists, podiatrists and other allied health professionals
- A mixture of in-house and external professional development opportunities
- Potential future clinical leadership opportunities for experienced practitioners
- The autonomy to manage your clinical work while still being part of a broader team
We're building an allied health service where clinicians feel valued, supported and have opportunities to develop their careers as the organisation grows.
Interested?
Whether you're an early-career EP looking to develop your experience or an experienced EP interested in helping grow a service, we'd love to hear from you.
Please send through your CV and a short cover letter telling us a little about yourself, your experience, the type of role you're looking for and your preferred days and hours.
