Our Marine Underwriting team is an essential part of the NTI story. We play a pivotal role in the ongoing growth and success of our Marine Cargo, Carriers, Commercial Hull and Marine Liability portfolios.

You will be joining a team of marine specialists ensuring long term, sustainable growth and profitability of Marine Protect. You will be responsible for ensuring that service, quality, sustainable and profitable business practices is established and maintained by underwriting operations. You will also:

- Build your market profile and form a career as a Marine Underwriter

- Have support and focus to develop your technical expertise whilst working alongside Australia’s leading experts in Marine Underwriting

- Opportunity to contribute to game changing projects as we innovate to lead the market

- Manage Renewals, Endorsements and New Business opportunities to attain financial targets

- Collaborate across various departments throughout the business to ensure the profitable pricing of risks and identification of potential growth opportunities.

- Involvement in the Underwriting policies, pricing/policy negotiation with the Commercial team and audit process.

What we’ll love about you:

You will be a critical thinker with a proven track record in influencing and negotiating to achieve outcomes and building robust relationships with stakeholders. In addition, you will have:

- Working knowledge of Marine Underwriting and understanding of relevant legislation (highly desired)





- The ability to negotiate priorities, as well as set and manage delivery expectations

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including stakeholder management

- A strong customer focus, service ethic and commitment to excellence

- A desire to engage and network in the insurance market
