The Opportunity

Help create the look of a new era in rugby league. We’re seeking a creative, hands-on Graphic Designer to bring the Perth Bears’ brand to life across digital, print, campaigns, match days and club experiences.

Based in Perth, this full time role reports to the Creative & Content Manager. You’ll turn creative briefs into distinctive, consistent design that connects with supporters and supports teams across the club. From player announcements and membership campaigns to stadium screens and animated social content, your work will help shape how fans experience the Bears as we prepare for our inaugural NRL season in 2027.

What You’ll Do

- Create bold, on-brand designs for social media, websites, email, advertising, membership, ticketing, partnerships and community initiatives.
- Develop campaign concepts for player announcements, club events and key moments, adapting artwork across channels and formats.
- Design game day graphics for stadium screens, ribbon boards, LED displays, signage and supporter experiences.
- Produce print and large-format artwork, prepare production-ready files and work with suppliers to deliver accurate, high quality results.
- Bring static designs to life through motion graphics, animated typography, transitions and screen graphics, collaborating with the content team on video assets.
- Manage multiple briefs and deadlines, balancing planned campaigns with fast-turnaround requests for announcements, events and match days.
- Build and maintain templates and organised asset libraries, checking every delivery against club, partner and league requirements.

What We’re Looking For

- Demonstrated graphic design experience within the NRL or another sporting organisation will be a distinct advantage.




- Professional graphic design experience or a strong portfolio demonstrating professional standard work, with creative concepts, typography, layout, image treatment and consistent brand application across digital and print.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, plus working proficiency in After Effects to create motion graphics and animate static designs.
- Experience adapting campaign creative across channels and preparing production-ready artwork for digital, print, signage and large-format applications.
- The ability to interpret brand guidelines and creative direction, clarify briefs, explain design decisions and respond constructively to feedback.
- Strong attention to detail, clear communication and the organisational skills to manage competing projects and deadlines.
- Creative energy, a fan-first mindset and a practical, collaborative approach to working in a growing sporting organisation.
- Entertainment or events experience, stadium and LED graphics, or advanced motion design skills highly regarded.
- Premiere Pro, compositing, retouching or 3D design skills, and a relevant qualification desirable.

Working in a Start-Up Setting

The Perth Bears are a start-up organisation in a critical foundation phase.



Like other roles recruited to date, this position is intentionally hands-on and will initially operate with lean support structures.

Working under the direction of the Creative & Content Manager, you’ll contribute ideas and deliver the day-to-day design work that brings them to life. You’ll help establish practical templates, file management and production processes, build relationships across the club and with suppliers, and adapt as priorities evolve.

Success in this role requires comfort with ambiguity, accountability for your work, and a calm, organised approach to balancing creative thinking with hands-on delivery.

Important Information

This role is based in Perth, Western Australia and remote working opportunities are not available.

This role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends in line with game days and club events.
