About The Role
Dayne is seeking a Junior ASP.
NET Web Application Developer to join its Microsoft development group. In this role, you will help build and support websites and applications, contributing to several projects at the same time. You will work under the guidance of a project’s Technical Lead or Project Manager and coordinate your work with other team members. This position is suited to a developer with a foundation in ASP.
NET, VB.
NET, databases, and core web technologies, along with the ability to troubleshoot issues and estimate development work. You may also provide related development support, such as creating or refining HTML markup, when a project requires it and the work aligns with your skills. The position is based at Dayne’s head office in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Candidates may be asked to complete a skills assessment as part of the selection process. Qualifications Applicants should have a degree, diploma, or equivalent education in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. At least two years of experience is required with the following technologies and areas, except where noted:

• Visual Studio 2003
• ASP 3.0
• SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005
• SQL, including database normalization and optimization techniques
• HTML, JavaScript, and CSS




• Windows platforms and related technologies You should understand object-oriented design and programming concepts, be comfortable troubleshooting technical problems, and be able to manage competing tasks across multiple projects. Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach are important. Experience with C#, web services and SOAP, Microsoft Content Management Server, CVS or Visual SourceSafe, or Adobe Photoshop 6 or 7 would be an asset. Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain websites and web applications using Microsoft technologies.
• Contribute to assigned project tasks in coordination with Technical Leads and Project Managers.
• Work across multiple projects while communicating progress, priorities, and potential blockers.
• Provide realistic time estimates for development tasks and related work.
• Investigate issues, troubleshoot defects, and help identify practical solutions.
• Provide additional development support, including HTML markup, when appropriate to your skills and project needs.
• Follow established project practices and contribute to reliable, maintainable deliverables.
