About the role

We are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator to join our manufacturing team at John Shearer Pty Ltd. Reporting to the Factory Manager, you will fabricate and assemble sheet metal components for agricultural machinery.

Key responsibilities

- Fabricating and assembling sheet metal components for agricultural machinery.
- Cutting, bending, folding and forming sheet metal to required specifications.
- Operating fabrication equipment, including press brakes, guillotines and other sheet metal machinery.
- MIG welding and assembly of sheet metal and steel components.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and fabrication specifications.
- Measuring, marking out and preparing materials for fabrication.
- Ensuring finished components meet quality and dimensional requirements.
- Identifying opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and efficiency.
- Maintaining a secure, clean and organised work environment.
- Working collaboratively with the production team to meet manufacturing schedules.

About you

- Trade qualifications in Sheet Metal Fabrication, Boilermaking or a related field.
- Previous sheet metal fabrication experience will be highly regarded, with preference given to applicants with strong sheet metal working skills.
- Experience operating press brakes, guillotines and sheet metal fabrication equipment.




- Proven MIG welding and metal fabrication experience.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A reliable attitude and strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Experience in agricultural machinery, heavy equipment or manufacturing (highly regarded).

Pay: $58,900.00 – $94,600.00 per year
