This role isn’t for everyone. If you want to build real expertise in a specialised field and you’re driven, curious and capable enough to run with it once trained, keep reading.
About the role
Your primary role will be as a Sleep Technician, working directly with patients through:
- Home sleep testing
- Equipment setup
- Treatment education
- CPAP therapy support
- Ongoing patient care
Like everyone in our clinics, you’ll also rotate through reception and clinic administration, generally one or two days each week. This includes managing appointments, patient records, communications and the day-to-day running of the clinic.
Sleep health is a specialised and technical field, so we don’t expect you to arrive knowing it. We provide a structured training program lasting two to four months, covering the clinical, technical and administrative sides of the role.
Once you’re competent, we trust you to work independently, use your initiative and take ownership of your role.
What matters to us
Our values are respect, integrity and teamwork.
You’ll thrive here if you:
- Enjoy learning and want to understand why, not just how
- Have solid administration and computer skills
- Are organised, accurate and able to manage competing priorities
- Communicate confidently and respectfully with different types of people
- Take responsibility for your work and own your mistakes
- Handle sensitive information with maturity and discretion
- Use initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do
Experience that may help
Previous sleep-health experience isn’t required. Strong administration and genuine patient care is.
Experience in pharmacy, optometry, audiology, nursing, aged care, allied health, medical administration or working with clinical equipment may be helpful.
We also welcome applicants with academic, research or analytical backgrounds who enjoy learning complex information and applying it practically.
Why work with us?
We’re a close-knit team that takes our work seriously without taking ourselves too seriously.
Our patients often arrive exhausted, frustrated and unsure where to turn. You’ll have a direct role in helping them understand what’s happening and supporting them towards better sleep and better health.
We invest heavily in training. We’re looking for someone who brings the curiosity, motivation and personal responsibility to make the most of it.
How to apply
We only review applications that include a cover letter because we want to understand how you think, not just where you’ve worked.
Please answer:
- Tell us about a time you went out of your way to make someone’s day easier or better.
- Tell us about something you committed to learning properly. What was it, and how did you approach it?
- Optional: What is something you’ve taught yourself simply because you were curious?
