Sign In Officer

Ultimate Paintball – Cawdor, NSW
Casual Weekend Position | Saturday & Sunday
$33–$46 per hour

Ultimate Paintball is looking for mature, outgoing and highly organised people to run the front counter on weekends.

We operate one of Sydney’s largest outdoor entertainment venues, welcoming hundreds of customers through the park on busy weekends. The Sign In Officer is the first person every group meets and the person who keeps the whole morning moving.

We are an amusement and entertainment venue first and foremost. Paintball is the activity, but creating an organised, exciting and memorable customer experience is the job. That experience starts at the counter.

THE ROLE

This is a fast-paced, customer-facing position combining:

Sign In & Check-In
Welcome every group as they arrive, find their booking, check waivers and photo ID, confirm numbers and get every player signed in correctly and on time.

Sales & Upselling
Help players choose the right paintball pack, upgrade them where it makes sense, and sell extra paintballs, gloves, groin guards, bandanas, drinks and other stock. You’ll process payments through our point-of-sale system and balance up at the end of the day.

Tags & Group Control
Issue and check player tags, make sure every player has paid for what they’re using, and keep groups organised so they’re ready for their referee and their session start time.

Flow & Organisation
Manage the queue on busy mornings, keep groups together, communicate with referees and field staff, and make sure sessions go out on time. When 150 people turn up at once, you’re the one keeping it calm and moving.

Customer Service
Answer questions, sort out booking issues, handle late arrivals and changes to numbers, and help deliver the level of service expected from a premium entertainment venue.

This is a hands-on job. It’s busy, it’s loud on peak mornings, and it needs someone who stays sharp, friendly and in control while a lot is happening at once.

WHO WE WANT

We’re specifically looking for mature adults who are:

- Extremely reliable and punctual
- Genuinely available to work weekends
- Confident, outgoing and comfortable dealing with large groups
- Organised, with a solid eye for detail

- Comfortable handling cash, cards and a point-of-sale system
- Confident recommending products and upselling without being pushy
- Friendly and approachable with strong customer service skills
- Able to stay calm, polite and firm when things get busy or customers push back
- Comfortable managing different personalities and group dynamics
- Proactive and willing to find the next job rather than waiting to be told
- Team players who understand that everyone contributes to the operation

Experience in retail, hospitality, front of house, ticketing, events, tourism, attractions, sport or customer service would be highly regarded. Sales or upselling experience is a big plus.

Paintball experience is not required. We can teach you paintball.

What we’re looking for is much harder to teach: reliability, organisation, confidence and work ethic.

WEEKEND AVAILABILITY IS ESSENTIAL

Please read this section before applying.

This is specifically a Saturday and Sunday position.

Our busiest days are weekends, so we’re looking for people who have made a genuine decision to work weekends and can commit to being part of the regular roster.

If you regularly need weekends off, have sporting or social commitments that frequently clash with weekend work, or are looking for a role where weekend availability is occasional, this probably isn’t the right position for you.

We understand that genuine illness, emergencies and important commitments happen. What we need is someone whose normal availability is Saturday and Sunday and who takes their rostered shifts seriously.

When you accept a shift, the team and our customers are relying on you to be there.

YOU’LL DO WELL HERE IF...

You’re the person who stays calm when the line is out the door.

You can look at a crowd of 40 people who all want to be signed in right now and say:

“No worries,

everyone. Booking name first, waivers ready, and we’ll have you on the field in no time.”

And then actually make it happen.

You enjoy talking to customers, can have a laugh while remaining professional, and you’re happy to suggest the bigger pack when you know it’ll give someone a better day.

You don’t need someone constantly checking what you’re doing. If the stock needs restocking, the counter needs tidying or a group looks lost, you notice it and get onto it.

That’s the type of person we’re looking for.

WHY WORK AT ULTIMATE PAINTBALL?

This isn’t a desk job and it isn’t a standard retail shift.

You’ll be the face of a massive outdoor entertainment venue, meet hundreds of different people every weekend, and play a key part in making sure every group’s day starts right.

For the right person, there is also the opportunity to take on greater responsibility within our weekend operations team.
