We are seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time, ongoing basis.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan menus and estimate food and labour costs in consultation with management.
- Prepare, cook and present a variety of Indian dishes according to restaurant standards.
- Monitor food quality throughout preparation and presentation.
- Discuss food preparation requirements with management and kitchen staff.
- Order food supplies and monitor stock levels.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards.
- Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance to kitchen staff.
- Assist with the selection and training of kitchen employees.
- Manage kitchen operations to ensure efficient and timely meal preparation.
- Maintain consistency in food quality,
portion control and presentation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate IV in Kitchen Management, Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent relevant qualification is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant commercial cooking experience is preferred.
- Experience preparing Indian cuisine.
- Robust knowledge of commercial kitchen operations and food safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays as required.
