About the Role

As a member of our housekeeping team, you will play an important role in ensuring Naiko Retreat, which is a single house accommodating 6 guests, is presented to the highest standard for every guest's arrival.

The role involves preparing the entire retreat between guest stays, ensuring every room is immaculately clean, beautifully presented and ready to welcome our next guests.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Thoroughly cleaning and preparing three bedrooms, three bathrooms and the open-plan kitchen and living areas.
- Cleaning and checking all surfaces, kitchen appliances and kitchenware, ensuring every detail is attended to.
- Vacuuming and mopping floors throughout the property.
- Stripping, making and presenting beds to a high standard.
- Cleaning and tidying outdoor decks and furniture.
- Removing rubbish.
- Replenishing the firewood basket during the cooler months.
- Cleaning the electric BBQ.
- Checking the overall presentation of the retreat to ensure it is pristine, welcoming and ready for guest arrival.
- Communicating effectively with team members and contributing to a positive, respectful working environment.





All cleaning equipment and materials are provided.

Hours and Availability

- Back-to-back bookings: Cleaning must be completed within the allocated four-hour window, between 11 am and 3 pm.
- Gaps between bookings: Where there are vacant days between reservations, there is greater flexibility around cleaning times.
- Flexible availability: The role requires availability on weekends and public holidays, depending on guest bookings.

The ability to work efficiently while maintaining exceptional cleaning and presentation standards is essential.

Requirements

The successful applicant will have:

- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience, ideally in accommodation or hospitality, highly regarded but not essential.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- A methodical approach to cleaning, with the ability to work efficiently and independently.
- Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- The physical fitness required for a hands-on role involving bending, lifting, standing and repetitive tasks.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with other team members.
- A positive, proactive attitude, reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Flexibility to work around guest bookings, including weekends and public holidays.
- Reliable own transport and a current driver's licence, given the property's rural location.
