Cook – School Canteen Kitchen

Bizzee Breeze Canteens is looking for an experienced, organised Cook to join our central kitchen in Baldivis.

The role offers school-day hours that may suit a cook looking for a more family-friendly routine. There are no weekend or school-holiday shifts.

Hours may range from 10 to 30 per week, depending on the successful applicant or applicants. We’re open to considering a job-share arrangement.

Our main kitchen prepares hot meals and baked goods for three school canteens. We make nearly everything from scratch, with bread as the exception. This is a hands-on cooking role involving food preparation and batch cooking.

What you’ll do

- Prepare and cook hot meals and baked goods for our three school sites
- Follow recipes and prepare food in consistent batches
- Keep the kitchen clean, safe and organised
- Plan and sequence tasks so production is ready on time
- Pack and prepare food for delivery to the other school canteens




- Keep track of supplies and let us know when stock needs replenishing

What we’re looking for

- Previous cooking experience
- Excellent time management and organisation
- The ability to work efficiently to deadlines
- Valuable food safety and hygiene practices
- Reliability, initiative and a practical approach
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team

The kitchen can be busy, and production needs to stay on schedule. Strong planning, pace and attention to detail are important.

This role is paid under the Restaurant, Café and Catering (WA) Award. A current Working With Children Check and Department of Education screening are required for work in school canteens.

Pay: From $34.76 per hour

Expected hours: 5.0 – 30.0 per week
